Style: Ad Featured Couples Having Actual Sex (NSFW Photos)

Sex in front of the camera is authentic not simulated, says Mike Eckhaus of Eckhaus Latta of their latest ad campaign for their Spring 2017 collection. The private parts of the models who participated in the campaign had been blurred; nevertheless it stirred controversy so much that it had caused for their website to crash not long after they uploaded the ad photos.

Indeed the company’s hard work paid off. This New York and LA-based fashion brand’s latest campaign actually took six months to finish. The hardship they attributed mainly to the concept of the photo shoot that made it difficult for them to look for models willing to participate on the project. But in the end, they were able to gather real-life couples—gay and straight—who were excited to do the shoot. Check out the photos here or watch the video below wherein some of the netizens were asking whether this is an ad campaign or porn.

Eckhaus Latta got Korean-German photographer Heji Shin on board to put into reality their vision of infusing sexuality with fashion advertising while at the same time saying that “sex sells.” The result of this concept relayed a “sex-positive, body-positive, sexuality-positive message” according to Eckhaus.

Latta said on the same interview with W Magazine that the models were covered in their actual sweat, not oil. She was quoted as saying, “We’ve really wanted to play with the principles around advertising, but it had to be authentic and it had to be real people. If it was simulated, it would have really lost the whole intention behind the shoot.”

What did you think about the photos guys? Did you like the ad campaign? Why or why not? Do you agree with the statement that sex sells? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section below.

Meh. I might take a look at the stuff if I saw these ads up in a physical store somewhere, maybe engage some other people in questioning how they got away with putting what is essentially softcore porn up in a store window but otherwise..ehhhh. It doesn’t really make me want to buy the clothing line.

Part of my job for a couple of decades involved video development. Video editors and directors told us “if you want to guarantee your audience does NOT pay attention to the video, blur a part of what’s onscreen. You guarantee they’ll focus on understanding what’s being blurred and will pay no attention to what else is on the screen.

It sickens me when people are completely insensitive for commercial reasons. Sex is a beautiful, intimate thing, and exploiting it for, of all things, fashion, well, it disgusts me. Fashion people are as mentally degrading as philosophers, so abstract in thinking as to be fascists.

Agree with your thoughts about the exploitation of sex as a devaluation of beauty and nature. However, I would like to hear more on your thoughts about philosophy. Your statements are bold, but lacking in elaboration. Indulge me, if you find the caring and time to do so.

Ok first off what the HELL, like my parents taught me and I strongly believe, there is a time and place for everything and this content belongs in a porno magazine or vid. Aren’t their restrictions on these kind of things, why would I want to look up on a bill board and see this, and to answer your question Yes sex sells, but then again everything has time and place, is noting truly secrete anymore??? ☹

Sex Sells for sure, but what the hell are the products being sold, and prices??
    The ECKHAUS LATTA WEBSITE
    http://eckhauslatta.com/
Doesn’t depict a ” MENU” or any specific clothing items. Quite frankly this is a ridiculous ad campaign, and the photos are an egregious mistake.
This isn’t your Mom and Dads, Sears Roebuck or JC Penny’s Christmas Catolaugoe’s.That for sure.!!

Thanks LEO for the website link but I must say that the photo on this blog is really hot! It reminds me of the hot and steamy days of my past.
Click on “Shop on Line” on the website to see the various clothing items with their prices. The “E.L. Jean” is $290.00! Enjoy your shopping.

Thanks for the update Freespirit. Holy cow, $290.00 for a pair of jeans, in my opinion that’s ludicrous.
        Have a great week.

Not being a fan of censorship, the blurs make me specifically not want to buy this product. It may be authentic sex, and that is intriguing, but the censorship takes away from the message of body-positivity and sexual authenticity and comfort. Defeats the purpose of the ad campaign, IMO, and turns me off from the product. Just one opinion, but also one more person who likely won’t be buying.

Pics are nice, but mostly people focus on the blurred parts… It’s actually difficult to figure out what they’re actually modeling/selling in these pics.
