Dating: Bilingualism Sexier Than Having a 6-Pack?

A study was conducted in the UK asking its participants if they prefer someone who is bilingual or someone with a 6-pack. The answers might surprise you.

The survey revealed that, 93% of gay and bisexual British women would rather date a bilingual person than date someone with a 6-pack. The figure on the other hand, is higher for the gay and bisexual men at 99%.  Further, the survey revealed that 54% of the respondents speak more than one language: Italian (64%), French (62%), and Spanish (46%). How about you, guys? Do you speak another language apart from English?

When asked which particular accents sound the most attractive to their ears, French emerged as the clear winner at 47%, it was followed by Italian at 45%, and then Irish at 32%. I’m french Canadian guys…and I’m single! (lol) What do you think is the sexiest accent in the world?

For this particular study however, the results clearly indicate that the LGBT community in the UK prefer brains more than brawn.

What about you guys? Do you find men who speak two languages sexy? Or are you more likely to date men who have a 6-pack? What’s your priority? Have you ever dated a man who speaks several languages? Share with us your thoughts and stories in the comments section below.

A flat tummy is nice, but I have never liked or wanted the six-pack or eight-pack look. It is unnecessary, unnatural, and simply bad. Gay men need to work on their brains and their personalities, and their behavior, not their abs. It is a construct created by magazine editors desperate for sales, and who don’t care about how they damage people. They succeeded in brainwashing men to be as vain and self-centered as women, creating more insecurity and immaturity in the process. It is disgusting. It just looks reptilian. And it certainly does not improve your lovemaking.

They succeeded in brainwashing men to be as vain and self-centered as women?
I’m not sure if it was your intent, however; that sounds both sexist and unenlightened. I meet more self-centered gay men than I do women. Does that mean you are necessarily one of them?
Again, I don’t know if that is what you meant. This article/comments have nothing to do with women. Leave them be.

It’s really bizarre how many woman-bashing comments I come across on articles on gay websites. It’s astonishing to see so much chauvinism in the gay community, especially when, as in this case, the poster is trying to discourage being judgemental. It’s disappointing.

English is my first , and unfortunately , only language . The only other language I need to speak is with my eyes.

    Pity I’m blind ! lol

I am a native English speaker, but I also speak Italian and French. To my ears (and heart), women speaking French is the sexiest female sound, and men speaking Italian is the sexiest male sound.

It still depends on racial preference. I am black by ancestry however my family comes from a central american country, so I am blatino. It’s 2018 and people are shock by this and I get blocked a lot because of melanin skin that is beautiful and different.

      Wrong topic .
And I happen to live in a majority black region and get blocked by blacks who never even initiated a conversation in the first place.

Note that the study was conducted in the UK. Far, far larger percentages of the indigenous populations of the UK and other European countries speak more than one language than in the US. In fact, Americans have a reputation in Europe for being culturally and linguistically insular. I am an American, and when I tell people that I read, write, and /or speak five languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Latin), most Americans are surprised, whereas my European friends are not. But is bilingualism or multilingualism “sexy”? No.

For me, it depends on the language. Not all that impressed with Spanish or Italian, but I love Slavic languages, Nordic languages, Japanese, and German.

I think that someone who speaks a second language ‘might’ indicate possessing more intelligence as appose to a six-pack. Besides, there’s lots of guys whom have six-packs… And, this man with the six-pack, what about his health status, what if its bad news? Is that something you’d want to deal with, if you’re someone like me, you ‘mostly’ date with a ‘in the long-run’ objective in mind; at least a romance, leading to something more… not something as shallow as a six-pack for crying out loud…

If you call someone who speaks two languages bilingual, and someone who speaks multiple languages a polyglot, what do you call someone who speaks only one language? The answer, of course, is an American. 😉

Then again, I’m a native-born American and speak around 20 languages to varying degrees. I find learning languages to be enjoyable, and as a volunteer EMT in a fairly diverse area, it really comes in handy to be a polyglot to make sure I can communicate with my patients. I also keep up with a pretty good workout routine, so my abs are pretty good. All else being even, I’d pick someone who speaks more than one language over someone with good abs, but personality is really what everything comes down to.
