P!nk is back!

It has been five years since her last full length album called The Truth about Love (2012) but fans need not wait for much longer. Last Thursday, Pink announced she has a new album—Beautiful Trauma—coming this October 13 and at the same time, she dropped a single from said album titled What About Us? and critics are loving it.

Critics are calling the newly-released song as “political,” “empowering,” and a “plaintive, searching song” largely because of the lines below:

“What about us? / What about all the times you said you had the answers? / What about us? / What about all the broken happy ever afters?”

And:

“We are problems that want to be solved / We are children that need to be loved / We were willing, we came when you called / But man you fooled us, enough is enough”

Indeed, the song can be interpreted more as political rather than romantic. Do you agree? Anyway, I liked the song, and so did many others around the world apparently. What About Us? is currently at number 1 in the US, UK, and Australian iTunes Chart.

Listen to the entire song and watch the video below.

I am a fan of P!nk’s husky, powerful vocals and I particularly love her in Lady Marmalade (2001) and Get the Party Started (2001). My list is probably longer than that but when I hear or read about Pink, those two songs are always the first that comes to my mind.

What do you think about P!nk’s new single What About Us? guys? Did you love it? Share with us your thoughts and opinion in the comments section below.

These openly gay county musicians can be good listens: Chely Wright, Brandy Clark, Ty Herndon , Billy Gilman, and Shane McAnally. Probably, though, only for the brave who would dare venture outside of Gay Diva Worship.
