Watch This: Denmark Has a Message For You!

A moving video released by TV 2 Denmark captured the attention of people around the world because of its unifying message: that we are all connected to each other, that we have more things in common than we think.
All that We Share opened with several people entering a room into a voiceover saying, “It’s easy to put people in boxes: there’s us and there’s them. The high earners and those just getting by. Those we trust and those we try to avoid. There’s the new Danes and those who have always been here. The people from the countryside and those who had never seen a cow. The religious and the self-confidents. There are those we share something with. And those we don’t share something with.”
Then the participants—Danish from all walks of life—were grouped into the class clowns, the lonely people, those who believe in life after death, those who loved to dance, the brokenhearted ones, the bisexuals, those who love Denmark among others. It ended with the remark, “So maybe there’s more that brings us together than we think.”

Indeed, the commercial is a welcome reminder amidst the division the world is facing today. We have to remember that we may have different political views, sexual orientation, race, gender, ethnicity, and class but at the end of the day we are all one and the same.
All that We Share was released the same day that Trump signed the controversial executive order on immigration policies which affected the refugees and immigrants of nationals coming from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia.

What about religious beliefs? Or was that let off the list so we can continue to target, attack, demonize and put out of business Christians who refuse to bake us a “wedding” cake or cater a reception? Religious believers who would throw us off buildings we can tolerate but a Christian, who still loves us as human beings, wishing to not bake us a cake… destroy them! Right?
You think I would name everything that people can use to divide in the sentence? You can add religions too… and age….and height… and hair color…etc…
Yeah actually I’m completely fine with demonizing and putting out of business those who refuse to follow anti-discrimination laws, which exist in far too few states. I can’t imagine what kind of self-loathing must be at play to advocate for your own discrimination.
Christians aren’t the only one that think that way.
So I hold the religious belief that it’s ok to own slaves. I think it’s perfectly fine to buy and sell humans and to own them as property that I can will to other people in my family or friends or mine when I die, and they can also will them as property to other people when they die, as with their descendants, in perpetuity from not till the end of time. Would I be right in calling you intolerant of my beliefs if you didn’t allow me to own human being against their will and use them as a source of cheap labor? Why would you discriminate against my deeply held religious beliefs?
I have no problem condemning Islam fundamentalists for the atrocities I see them commit against my fellow homosexual in those backwards countries around the world, but the fact is that here in the U.S. muslims hold more liberal beliefs than most atheists do, which is the next leading group, according to percentage. The Muslims in this country are not the problem on the grand scale, it’s the fundamental Christians who are trying to deny me and my brothers and sisters, equal access to goods and services that should be guaranteed under the law, just because they have a book they really, really like.

The fact is, christians are NOT under attack, absolutely nothing has changed in the way christians are treated…..But what HAS happened is that christians have got their panties in a twist after losing the war THEY started against gay marriage….which is also the reason we are seeing the christians attacking transgender people….since they lost the gay marriage fight, they can’t stand it and simply want to attack someone else now.
Those “religious believers” who fly planes into buildings make themselves known for what they are….they are a clear and present danger…..but christians are like a snake in the grass, they put up a front of all goody goody and love and treat others as you want to be treated, etc…..but when they get behind the closed doors of their churches (all tax free mind you), they scheme and plot to use politics and money and influence to get laws passed that take away basic human rights of those people they don’t approve of…..who they can and can’t marry, what bathrooms they can and can’t use….it’s pathetic…they are pathetic.
And as Jayssn commented…..Yes, I have absolutely no problem putting those christians out of business if they can’t treat all their customers fairly.
Yes, religious people should have the right to believe as they wish, but when they open a business that serves the general public, that’s where the religious belief stops….right at that door to their store.
Some religions believe that women should not be seen or heard in public…..what if that person opened a store and a woman came in and they refused to serve the woman because of their religious beliefs?….Are you ok with that?
When you open a business, you conform to the society you’re serving….not the other way round.
Christians want special privileges….they want to be above the laws that everyone else must follow…..pathetic.
Good old message brought out in a novel way. What we have in common is often not realized as we focus on what we think we know. That is so well said. I do hope it gets borrowed for over here. I suspect the self righteous would discard the whole thing because of the bisexual and those who had sex this week, but no matter. It was moving. I learned long ago that a life that only can hold a narrow mind can’t hold a full heart either. Bravo the Dane’s.
So wait we should embrace all walks of life, even those same ones who scream to kill any gay man or woman. That if you believe differently then the quaran then you should be put to death, you can only have compassion to a degree but there are times when you have to stand at wits end and say no. We as americans put most if not all of our citizens into third rate consumer groups, then wonder why we have huge numbers of homeless all over the USA but no problem we can take in refugees and let the citizens already here foot that bill.. It seems like society is still taking 10 steps backwards and not just on equal rights but pretty much EVERYWHERE, Do any of you honestly believe any of the countries banned would take in American refugees and allow us the same freedoms that we were given here? Hell no its gonna be either pay attention to law or start losing toes and fingers, im all for loving your fellow man/woman but i have a problem when you want me to hug the guy holding the knife and hes been screaming for the past 2 hours about stabbing it in my kidneys
This group doesn’t speak for the whole country . I have family there and know for a fact that the immigrants and muslims are causing financial problems and serious crimes of murder and rape. Unfortunately this country is so backwards in liberal thinking it asked for these terrible acts to happen . Segregation is in demand .
