Hot or Not : Leggings for Men

Photo : Adam4AdamUnderwear

Fitness and gym guys are wearing leggings or meggings (leggings for men) these days. Yup, gone are the days when tights were only used by men who danced ballet. Meggings is currently the latest trend in men’s fashion and it can be worn everywhere depending on your styling and preference. We scoured Instagram for men in meggings. Check them out below.

  1. As an activewear.

Meggings are being marketed first and foremost as an activewear and it’s no surprise as it provides users the much-needed comfort and flexibility when working out. And did I mention how much meggings look sexy on guys? Some men have taken to meggings as a fitness gym wear of choice, even on hiking, running, rock climbing, or biking.

2. As streetwear. Some men had taken to wearing meggings for their street clothes.

In some parts of the globe though, there is another way to wear meggings and that is to wear it beneath their shorts. The world had seen many unique and daring themes in Japanese street fashion ranging from flamboyant to unconventional but nothing is probably more eye-catching than seeing men wear colorful meggings and they are slaying it!

3. Malling outfit. Hitting up the mall? Cute and casual, meggings is also a perfect outfit of choice for malling and strolling.

4. As a party outfit.

Yes, with the right fabric, you can dress to impress with meggings! Choose meggings in faux leather and accessorize with metal jean chain to complete your look.

5. As travel clothes. With meggings you can pack light plus it is wrinkle resistant. That it is comfortable to wear is a bonus.

6. Work and office wear. Yep, you can go to office and look sexy with meggings.

Believe it or not, meggings do work well with blazers, coats, and jackets. I mostly wear meggings to do grocery and things like that after gym and I wouldn’t personally wear meggings to work or to school, but some guys do and they are rocking it!

So what about you guys? Do you like it? Do you think it’s sexy? Do you find it too feminine? Would you wear meggings? Why? Or why not? Is it Hot or Not?

they were a flop in the 80’s and they are a flop today. only a very fit guy has a chance of looking good in them, and the mystery of what you’re packing is no longer a mystery…

  2. Hunter0500

    No.
And when I see a guy a them, it’s does not enhance my thoughts about him.
But if a guy wants them and feels good in them that’s his choice. There are guys out there who find the presentation awesome.

  3. anonimatovato

it depends if the guy is hot and has a fit body. the mall guy look cute af!

i wear jeggings, so I don’t think it’s that set apart from leggings, other than the fact that jeggings has jean styled pockets, zipper, etc.

  4. Stephen

I’m all for it. THE BETter the bulge, the more I want to see it. I’d have no problem wearing them either. I love feeling sexy & showing my ass to well hung studs.

  5. Darryl

With all trends, it’s a short fad. Depending on the guy sure he could pull it off. But overall it won’t last long. Right now Woman are still up in the air about Yoga Pants.

  6. Baron

Hot! I’m sick of seeing female crotches only exposed. However, women will not like it and call it sexual assault. No reason to call them meggings, though, that is dumb. Leggings are unisex. Pair them with tunics, medieval style, super comfortable.
However, many are not well made and don’t last. They can get unsightly holes. Size does matter. Underwear definitely matters.

  7. Steven

They look ridiculous/effeminate on men; in the gym! They serve no purpose whatsoever ( just like compression shorts). Maybe wear them if you have DVT, otherwise, dress like a man!

    • Cctxtocleoh

I agree with you on that. I wear them around the house as an alternative to underwear. In public and the gym is not hot at all. Contrary to gay belief, no one wants to see your junk while they’re trying to work out. They don’t even look good on women. And as part of business wear? Uh, no. All those guys look highly effeminate or drag queens and one tuck away from becoming a tranny. Its a sloppy, messy look 100%.

    • Jay

Agree! I’m in the South and know my good (butt, thighs, crotch, shoulders) and bad (tummy zone). If everything does not good then this look should be avoided. I think the holidays and weather are gonna give us a break from temptation to creeper shot violators.

wow I am happy that I am my own fashion model, designer selfi\fashionista. people don’t let these self appointed fas A** H**es influence who u dress you are your own fashion designer. YES they are Hot and Id wear them ANYWHERE 100% Yes I am Gus Luna from MERCED,CALIFORNIA,U.SA

  9. Againsttheflow76

Of course I think they are HOTT HOTT!! As for work I can’t see that as a good fit at all. Just prolly way too casual and showy. Lol. Just not the correct place and time. If anyone wanted to be a bit more modest just wear a longer shirt and such to cover their junk. As for the 80’s mentioned it was a craze for sure I remember them everywhere and on all kinds of people and in so kinds of places. These just seem so different and better then the spandex biking shorts of the 80’s, it’s just better thought out fashion and style.

This is a fashion atrocity. Goes for women too. It just makes it even worse for men and their muscly legs.

Looks like a hipster fashion that will die out by next year like all hipster fashion trends.

I guess everything that goes around comes around again. Men wore such kind of leggings around 1470 in Europe, so it was widely acceptable as fashion. I think its fine for the gym if that is what you like. I would not want to see this at all in the work place, unless one worked in fashion design house. In the rest of corporate American, a trousers and tailored shirts should stay the norm. With that said, I think people should wear what they like as long as it isn’t offensive to environment they are occupy. I wouldn’t want to see a guy wearing leggings showing off his bulge in church, lol. More likely if this catches on again, we will see more of this fashion in the next 5 years.

  12. Jay

No because I have some belly and won’t commit that fashion offense. Of course it looks great on under 25 gym college types. I just don’t know how they control happy moments or the fear of ripping.

  13. anonimatovato

I’m surprised at all the naysayers, not that I’m saying all men have to wear leggings, but considering that we’re part of the lbgtq, and we tend to be more open about alternative fashion statements, i find it very surprising to be honest.

Men can still leggings and still be men. I rest my case. We sure like to put people in a box don’t we?

    • Dave

you’re right, and those are the same guys bitching my articles about fashion/style saying that everyone should be able to wear whatever they want. Funny right?

      • Hunter0500

If a guy wants to wear leggings, his choice because he identifies with them. Some guys will think he looks great: others will think he does not.

If a guy wants to wear Wrangler jeans, flannel shirts and work boots, his choice because he identifies with them. Some guys will think he looks great: others will think he does not.

If a guy wants to wear the latest trends in style, his choice because he identifies with them. Some guys will think he looks great: others will think he does not.

No one should go about bitching that everyone should NOT be able to wear whatever they want. Their choice, they identify with it. No one needs to make a declaration about what looks good on someone else.

As ANONIMATOVATO said, “everyone should quit putting other people in boxes.”

  14. jay

I do think they are hot, but it is a turn off to see a guy wearing it as an outfit. The leather one wasn’t as bad as the others. Please use them only for physical activities. Otherwise it’s obvious you have a hidden agenda which most times would be an epic fail.
    Final answer: NO!

  15. RAGDICKIE

I definitely think they are HOT, but NOT appropriate for every occasion. THAT BEING SAID IF YOU CAN PULL IT OFF GO FOR IT, JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE BODY TYPE FOR IT… and the swagger to pull it off.

  16. Lonnie

With out a doubt I love wearing them, but only around the house as I live in a redneck kind of area but I do love the feel of them and wish other guys would wear them so I can check out their bulges. About 4 weeks ago I had a pizza delivered and forgot what I was wearing one night and answered the door in a pair. Gave me a strange look but oh well

  17. Darklamp

I remember biker shirts in the 80’s. I don’t see the big deal. Everything comes around again. I wear skinny jean (or I guess we must call them meggings) on occasion with the right outfit and the right mood. Only clothes, so do what you feel. I wear costumes rather than outfits, anyway. Maybe I won’t be wearing too long. They might get crumpled on a strange bedroom floor.

  18. Mark

Such bullshit. Show me a man in these – 6’2″, 225, muscular, or even “dad bod.”

It’s not attractive. At all. Even most women don’t look good in them.

    Next topic.

      • Hunter0500

I’ve seen guys shorter, taller, lighter and/or heavier who were, in my view/opinion, anything but “manly”.

And I’ve seen guys shorter, taller, lighter and/or heavier who were “dripping testosterone.”

Damn, the variety of men we have to choose from is awesome!

  19. Kirt28202

I see them mostly in the gym and think they are hideous. I don’t care how fit of a body you have, they look feminine. The worst are those that have rolls of fabric hanging down by the ankles, so if you can’t get the correct size, then don’t wear them in public. I’m looking for more good laughs at the gym come January 2, 2017. Only women should wear panty hose.

  20. DaddyDean

Hell, yes! I’ve been jealous of female coworkers for a couple years now. I am on the hunt for good looking meggings right now!

    • mark oldenkamp

good luck because it will be a LONG search, as they don’t exist…NOBODY looks flattering in tights unless you’re completing in an olympic track meet sprint, are a ballet dancer (in which case get therapy instead of tights) or is for utilitarian and not aesthetic purposes, of which i can find none that validate wearing such hideous creations…hello, leg warmers, daisy dukes, white dudes with corn rows, and meggings…all in the same category of “NEVER EVER AS IN EVER”

  21. Johnny BL

They’re Hot!!! I love them on toned and fit athletic men the most. I’m only turned on by them when worn by masculine looking men. If you’re not turned on by muscle men with leggings or meggings, something wrong with you. There’s nothing wrong with men with tights.

  22. Martin

To each his own, I don’t think they look right on men period because of our anatomy, nobody wants too see your dick and balls all smashed in the fabric, ewww

  23. bsb1016barb

I purchased a couple of pair of leggings and sexy boxer briefs from a well known department store a few months ago. I had not planned on purchasing these items until a sales rep convinced me to do since they were on clearance. I can not pass up on clearance items that were very reasonable. The items ended up looking good on me with some workout shorts over those leggings as you see on the displays and advertisements which were tastefully worn. Nothing was really revealing; therefore, the outfit was classy when worn to the gym to workout and/or to play sports or maybe to lounge around the house. Other than that, I have no other reason to wear them. Leggings can look good on a man if worn right with workout shorts over the leggings the fall and winter times.

  24. Tennessee Bottom

Yes, very HOT! I own four pairs. I have three pairs of the runner leggings. I wear these to work. I work for an athletic apparel retailer.

I have another pair actually called meggings. These are more dressy than the runner leggings. They look great with a sweater.

As for as showing my “junk.” I prefer the androgynous presentation. I tuck my cock and balls then hold everything in place with a tight fitting thong. This shows off my ass too!

  25. mark oldenkamp

MEGGINGS? just the name induces dry heaving… just proves that you can buy ‘fashion’ but you can’t buy style…and the onezees are the perfect example…as a general rule, if they wear them in south beach, miami — and they have for several years now, along with go-go shorts with Y-3 hi-tops WITH high socks and a faux-hawk to boot…TACCKKKKKKYYYYYY!!!! c’mon dude, the only thing i can think of that’s worse is when i saw gays at clubs wearing RASH GUARDS, used by surfers under wetsuits to prevent rashes…they are equally appalling… for being so ‘fashionista forward’, many many many of my ‘MO’s need to update their shit…NO TO MEGGINGS! NO TO LEGWARMERS! NO TO FAME!
