Health : Hillary’s PrEP Plan
It’s been a contentious few days for the American presidential campaign, and the choice is even starker for anybody voting in the coming November election.
While Republican nominee Donald Trump has gone on to offend Gold Star families, the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and a baby, Hillary Clinton has made a push for a broader HIV/AIDS relief plan, stories of the work she’s done as a public official have also been circulating on social media.
On her website, Clinton unveiled her plan to “tackle HIV and AIDS together”. Among the things outlined in the plan are an increase in the number of people on HIV treatment worldwide through programs like PEPFAR, or the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Clinton promises that she “will work with members of Congress and engage leaders around the world to increase global funding for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention.”
Also of note is Clinton’s push to expand the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP. Clinton promises that her administration would increase funding to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) so local communities can be educated and encouraged to use PrEP, as it has been proven effective in preventing HIV infection.
Clinton is also pushing to remove the stigma associated with AIDS, not just in the United States, but across the world. The Democratic nominee is promising to work with “the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria to engage in public education campaigns in key countries where stigma and discrimination are rampant.”
Aside from this policy outline, the Clinton campaign has also been buoyed by online accounts of the work she has done over the years. One such story that was shared extensively on social media was the story of James Grissom, who says his fight against cancer was aided greatly by Clinton’s intercession when he was set upon by a collection agency.
Grissom reveals that once he got in touch with the then Senator Clinton, calls from the collection agency within a week, and within a month Clinton was able to get him in touch with organizations that helped him pay for his medical expenses. Grissom then ends his post by saying that he’s with Hillary, even after he previously considered Bernie Sanders as the “best option for President.”

If you compare the crowds at Trump rallies to those at Crooked Hillary’s half-full “rallies,” you might draw a different conclusion. Keep in mind that many of these polls are rigged in the sense that they disproportionally sample Democrats. Also, don’t forget that 90 percent of the media are outright promoting her, almost campaigning for her actually. They twist, contort, and embellish Trump’s slightest missteps while largely ignoring Crooked Hillary’s crimes and unethical behaviors. Don’t count Trump out yet. #DonaldTrump2016

From what I’ve seen during this election season, it’s the Crooked Hillary and Bernie Sanders supporters who have been acting irrationally and aggressively. Instead of having rational discussions about differences in opinions, they believe that that have the right to shut down free speech and to silence those whose views are different from their own. So the candidate wants to expand funding for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PREP) by ‘increasing funding’. Right now there is nearly universal access to PREP in the United States for both insured and uninsured individuals, so this comment is just pandering to people she thinks are too stupid to remember she’s been against gay marriage for years, until public opinion shifted.
If you have insurance, you can get PREP from any doctor. If you’re on Medicaid or Medicare, they’re covered too. Uninsured- if you qualify for any of the hundreds of aid programs PREP drugs will be supplied. Honestly, the medical community has the opportunity to save lives and bend the curve of HIV infection, every medical professional I know is behind this initiative.
Secretary Clinton has no problem with the $400 million dollar ransom sent to Iran, she vigorously supports the middle eastern terrorist states that behead our gay brothers and sisters, and are sending thousands or young fanatics to western countries to behead us right at home.
I cannot vote for her, the public and deleted and hidden emails prove over and over again she is not to be trusted. She’s just making a campaign speech, I expect nothing from her.

PReP is basically a fraud designed to make Gilead rich, so that’s no answer. The ANSWER is government-funded research that bears the fruit of A CURE, to hell with Gilead. Already the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is seeing that, after County Supervisor Sheila Keuhl’s politically (and financially) minded PReP giveaway, infection rates have actually INCREASED. Remember. PReP on its own only decreases chances of infection through the usual vectors by 52%, per Gilead’s own FDA trial filings…that’s NOT GOING TO HELP MUCH. Let me put it more clearly for the mentally challenged…instead of a 1 in 64 change of pozzing up getting it up the bum, now you’re looking at around 1 in 135….and it costs the taxpayers $1800 a month!! The drugs are rebated to the insurance company so the overall cost to a patient with insurance is less. You don’t have to take this, safe sex works just as well if we all used it. And you won’t get other STD’s as well. The reason we have a breast cancer survival rate twice Europe, a 75% better prostate cancer survival rate, is American drug companies can charge for their research and development.
Would government research (home of the $100 toilet seat) do as well. Unlikely. In this country, with private drug companies and patent protection, they give us lifesaving treatments not available in the rest of the world. I guess if you put Hillary in charge, you’ll find out. Bah!

They may not know better, and too many pervs won’t guide them correctly in how to protect themselves. I support Truvada being funded, because I know people will hear the Truth about condoms, as well. Hillary is, the only possible choice for what I hope is not “anybody voting in November” but the loud mouthed nay sayers across our country who need to get off their collective asses and put their money where there mouths are and get to the polls come November~!~! If you think back to the Clinton presidency of the 90’s, you will recall that Hillary, as first lady was spearheading the exploration of major change to our medical system. Had that not occurred at that point, we would not have any of the changes enacted by Obama… Hillary deserves tremendous credit for her work then, her work since as senator from NY and as Secretary of State, all of which as Obama said at the convention, make her more qualified to be the leader of our nation than anyone else has probably ever been! That she is looking at ways to increase knowledge and treatments for HIV and AIDS not only here at home but globally is laudable without question. She has my vote and I’ve been waiting for many years now to cast it. And to those who are thinking of staying home come election day, or god forbid have somehow wrapped their heads around the idea that Trump may be a better candidate, I ask you, what has Trump EVER done or said that would indicate an understanding of the gay experience, or of the diagnosis of HIV or AIDS?? He has befriended homophobic dictators refusing to stop the murders. He says the Nazis have good people. He has sided with people who say they have the right to discriminate because that’s what their religion says.

Hate Crimes went up almost 25% since he has been in office even as he hinted to various agencies this reporting was just paperwork.
