A4A : Are You On Social Media?

Kiev, Ukraine - August 26, 2013 - A collection of well-known social media brands printed on paper and placed on plastic signs. Include Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram and Tumblr logos.

Hey guys, I hope you are having a great day so far, it’s Friday, last day of the week before the weekend, yeahhhh!

Today, I’d like to ask you all if you are using social media? I also would like to know which social media is your favorite? Are you more often on Facebook? Do you prefer using Instagram and browsing photos? Do you use social media to watch porn and jerk-off? (Twitter/Tumblr). Do you use Google+ to stay connected with your friends and family? I want to know what social media you are using for what? (Family, friends, fuckbuddy, porn, etc)

I’m also curious to know your age. I am pretty sure that younger guys (18-25) are using Instagram more than other social media. I also think that older men (30-50) use Twitter more, but I might be wrong, that is why I want to know what you use. I personally use Facebook to keep contact with family and colleagues and to browse my favorite Pages like my favorite musicians and Adam4adam. I discovered Instagram recently, like a year ago and I love it. I discovered many hot guys and pages.

What about you?

Do you follow A4A on social media?

Social Media is a joke. The original idea was to keep in touch with loved ones family and friends. Society has turned it into an outlet where your value is based on your number of friends and aesthetic. The web has become another place to say how good looking you are how much your finances are better than everyone else’s. I’m not sure how smart or intelligent individuals seemed to be saturated by the idea of social media and social acceptance. The only true web is the Dark Web. Nuff said!!!!

My husband and I are the only people left in America under 70 who are not on social media. Everything we see is that it sucks up tons of time, makes you a ready victim of advertisers and gives you this false sense of worth based on the number of friends you have. No thanks.. we’ll stay with a4a to connect

I’m in my mid 50s and like Facebook. I’m able to keep in touch with friends from my past . I can keep up on changes with the old neighborhood, high school friends, and current events. I don’t know about the previous poster but i don’t care who has how many friends or how much money you have . If i’m going for a jerk it won’t be instagram or still photos like in the past before the net . I go to a porno site for some video.

  4. baci444

No active social media use here, only one account…a twitter account I created recently solely for the purpose of following Donald Trump

No! Facebook and Google+ are nothing more than adverting venues that collect a ton of information on you. Then the members are usually nobody media whores that love to show us pics of what they’re eating, when they have to take a dump, tell us their political / religious views, or post some inspirational messages. Every fool that is in MLM or direct marketing is always filling up their page with how miraculous their bullshit products are. So no, I’m not on social media excluding hook-up and relationship sites which is pretty much a form of social media. At least I get a hookup once in a great while from them.

    Facebook,

I’ve been on Facebook for 8 years placing comments and voicing my opinion on key button issues. Logging on between 10 to 16 times a week to keep up with news postings, mainly those that involve anything in entertainment. Social media has perks for people who like movies and etc. Can’t wait to see two epic flicks coming out later this year.

    @ Roadcyslist53 , lol
I’m not in America but I am under 70 like you and I’m not on social media in any form .. Internet chat boards and forums . yeah ,ok , but I don’t even have a cell phone . No interest in either whatsoever .
Too many people are blowing their lives with this all consuming interest in this shit and the world isn’t one iota better because of it .

I totally agree with the comments posted here so far. I tried face book for a short period of time, I couldn’t figure out how to navigate to look for old co workers from the past, so I cut it off quick. People is have known that seem to love face book, stated that they post family pics and keep up what friends and family are doing, even some of the haters towards them. I am 60 and have no need for such sites. a4a is my only outlet here, and most of the time I wonder what the hell I am doing here, although I do at times get a kick out of peoples profiles stating out attractive they think they are, and what a stud they think they are, oh and don’t forget my favorite, they are educated people, what does education have to do with hookups? Like anyone gives a damn as long as they have a hard cock! Lol

Social media in most forms has become nothing but a sewer. A platform for people to bitch and complain about everything. A place for the perpetually outraged to attacked all their perceived injustices in the world. A place for people to attack companies for selling a product they don’t like. A place to attack people with different beliefs. and on and on and on. A sewer.

  10. Mitch

I do get on social media when I have to but I hate it with a passion. Only reason I have one is because I have really close friends that live in Germany and South Korea so it really only way to stay in touch. But I don’t care if you eating lunch unless your inviting me I could care less what you eating and for god sakes I don’t need and update telling me you half way thru the meal. But the damn phone down and pick up your fork. I swear had a 14yo girl at my house helping my neice decorate and the only reason she actual did any work was because her phone died and no body would give into he screams to be takin home so she could get her charger. She give min by min twitts (not misspelled). People and criminals put way to much on there. A girl robbed a bank then flashed 1000’s of dollars in her facebook and could understand how she got caught in fact he crime was so perfect that they never would have known if she hadn’t face booked it.

  11. norman fredricks

I use NONE of them, because i consider myself a leader.
    and not a follower

I like a private life. i.e. my cell phone lives in my

    glove compartment of my car,

  12. DJ

NO!!!!! I’m not really on any social media Facebook use to be the place to go to keep up with old classmates. In the past 3 years FB has become a social Billboard. It’s media where anything can be posted its no filter like in the beginning.

  13. Tancredo

I use social network for communication. As a performer is a good way to interact with the people who might be watching my work. I use Facebook and Twitter the most. I have to recapture my Tumblr account.

  14. Bob

Since I am not “out” except to my gay friends, I have two separate lives online. I use Google and Facebook for family and straight friends. I use yahoo, A4A and Scruff to stay in touch with the gay side of my life. I use Craig’s list for both sides, depending on what I am looking for at the time.

  15. Toby

I tried Facebook for a while, but posted very minimal info about myself. I got annoyed with the friend requests and trivial details certain people were posting (ex, I sh*t 3 times today), so I deleted my account a few months later.

A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across a video of a news report on youtube revealing Facebook is a creation of the CIA and Mark Zuckerberg is a CIA agent. (If you want to watch it, search “Facebook CIA” on youtube to find the video.) Now many Americans don’t like the idea of the government spying on them, but millions are clueless about the fact they are willingly giving the government a treasure trove of information about themselves. Government should never be trusted.

  16. Bryan

I’m 51 and DO NOT USE SOCIAL MEDIA AT ALL!! I think it’s the most stupid shit ever created. ‘Oh..I don;t like what you posted so I’m going to unfriend you’. WHAT the fuck??? How stupid is that? Seriously guys? Pick up a phone and call someone. Or better yet, go visit friends and family. Nes pas?

  17. Hunter0500

On Adam4Adam and 2 other dating sites. A4A and one other are great. I regularly connect with my playbuds through them. About to drop the third one because nothing ever comes of the guys on it.

On Facebook to keep up with age old family and friends.

    On one health site.

Avoided Twitter for years because I had no desire to know whenever any sneezed. Gave it a try a couple of months ago to see if my assumptions were wrong. They were, in fact, correct. Being constantly pinged about people and topics I had NO desire to know about was hideous.

Media reports repeatedly state that far too many people spend 2 to 4 hours a day on Social Media when they should be spending time creating live interactions and relationships with humans instead of weak/empty interactions in cyberspace.

  18. JC

No Facebook, Twitter, etc. for me. Many of my friends do those and chide me for not. I don’t care! Ha!

Instead, I participate in special interest sites where odds are I will be communicating with others with similar interests and backgrounds.

For example I’m a hiker/backpacker and have done the entire Appalachian Trail so I’m on those sites. I’m a graphic designer and an A.C.E. re: Adobe InDesign so I do a couple of those sites. I’m a political junkie leaning left so I participate in those online venues. And I’m gay/single so I’m on a4a.

These sites do not require constant interaction, and there is no competition to be “liked.” Life is good with out Facebook and Twitter.

  19. headsupguy

I have a tumblr account that I’ve used on rare occasions to ogle photos of naked men when I haven’t seen a real one for a while.

Facebook is the perfect utility for nosy women who like to keep up with every burp and fart released by anyone they have ever known in their entire lives. But to fully experience the pleasures of this service, they must give up every shred of privacy, throw away many hours of their lives interacting with relentless “notifications” and become willing drones who unknowingly push irrelevant ads on their unsuspecting “friends.” That seems like an equitable tradeoff … for Facebook.

Google+ just wishes it could be Facebook.

I prefer to control the amount of information about me that is released to my family, friends, distant acquaintances and corporations I’d never do business with, so I’m not on Facebook or Google+. Ditto for Twitter, Instagram and all other “social” annoyances.

  20. 1versfucker

    No.
    I value my privacy.
    I don’t need a ton of ‘friends’.
People really got sucked in with the facebook phenomena.
    Sheep.

  21. Allieddog1

I joined FaceBook 8 years ago. My family wanted to keep in touch with me. I live so far away from them. Then I found out that the USA NSA monitors ALL electronic communications and even created a mirror FB. I closed my account but they will not leave me alone. They still forward emails to me. I do not want to help the US Gov. spy on me. There is no privacy anymore thanks to the internet and computers.Watch the movie,”Citizen Four”. Snowden is a true hero!

  22. YoungOKCbttm

I’m 25 and I use Facebook more than anything else. I have a instagram with exactly 3 pictures that have been there for at least that many years. I couldn’t tell you how to work twitter or instagram.. of course I watch tons on porn on tumblr…and Google plus is just weird.

  23. illanoy

I am not on social media! I do not see the point of seeing what jock strap someone bought, what you are eating for dinner or if you sent out a party invite…. TALK TO ME! Believe me a phone call is not the difficult to make or is face to face interaction. I work in a hospital, and most of my nursing cohorts walk around with their smart phone more involved with what their friends are doing while they are at work… the focus should be the patient, the family members and the other medical staff Not a picture of you new cosmetically enhanced penis or the hot 20 something you just picked up at the bar! It is a waste of time!

  24. Brian

I’m in my early 30’s (another birthday is about to roll around in a few days for me), and I’ve been on social media for a while. There have been so many sites I signed onto and log into over the past decade or 2. Usually I just do it for entertainment reasons or more so because a good amount of my friends are on any given site.

So far I’m on: Facebook, Google+ (that one is new for me for the last year), Tumblr. Back before these I was (and still keep my name up) on Myspace, Friendster, Youtube. For the most part I’ve given up on most things media-wise, so I usually find out about most things happening there and here through my friend’s posts and statuses. But I don’t let it take me over. I know how to disconnect myself from it; even when I’m on it. Like with Facebook – I’m usually on there a lot, but just in “ghost mode” as I’m probably playing a game on there. But other than that, I do engage in comments with certain friends of mine. Most of them that I have on there have been friends for the past 2 decades so I highly value the relationship we have. Too much memories to just bypass!

    =)

  25. laitnlust69

I use FB to follow friends and interests. George Takai is fab!. Twitter and tumblr for a bit of a hard on and links to porn. I actually post a selfie once in awhile.

  26. biiguy2000

    I’m a misanthrope, so I stay on the anti-social media…
    Heh, heh,

Actually, I have no need to stay on things like facebook or twitter… I’m in touch with friends & family anyway…

  27. Jim

No, I don’t use it, and happily reading here, I see that I am NOT the only one who isn’t! I actually have a pro forma anonymous account that I use on those rare occasions where I need to look at something which requires one to be registered, but I have never posted anything, “liked” anything, etc. on it.

  28. Sam

    Isn’t this social media?

I use a4a, grindr, scruff and Craigslist pretty regularly, but have no interest at all in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Because of my work, I dont really want all my personal activities to be easily searchable.

  29. Christopher

    None but this and Silverdaddies.

I suppose that A4A is a “social media outlet” of sorts, but not THAT public as is FB, T, I, Tmblr.

Privacy concerns aside, if someone wants to waste their time on those sites, that’s their prerogative, period.

Friends try to “crowbar” me into joining a site that I want nothing to do with, except THEY want me to and I have no desire to do so. Public pressure? You bet!

“You DON’T use Facebook”? (In a tone that’s almost condescending!)

  30. Bottom4tops69

I’m only on Facebook but I can never be a true cock whore in Facebook cuz then it will known nation wide. If a black man can make me his cock whore, I’ll make me a cock whore Facebook

  31. cravenmoorhed

I consider Adam4Adam the best Social Media Site for getting my Face out in the Public and Getting Laid. I’m Kinda a Super Star Now. LOL Thanks Adam4Adam for alway’s being there for me when I am in need.

  32. Lucas

Woah, a lot of you guys have such a negative outlook on Social Media. Let me clear things up for you.

Regardless of whether or not you use social media, the government has been collecting (and will continue to collect) all data on everyone, so the whole “privacy” thing is a moot argument. If you don’t have any notion of what I am talking about, do some research on the things that Edward Snowden has leaked.

I use social media often, both for work and as a platform to communicate with friends, artists, and other people i’ve met or would like to meet.

Facebook makes it real easy for you to only see what you want, and to only get updates from people you want, while “unfollwing” others. The pro’s outweigh the cons. Also, you shouldn’t spend more than half an hour a day on social media.

Instagram is also really good. it’s all “what you see is what you get”. You can choose to participate if you want, but if you don’t want to, at least have a valid argument other than the “privacy” nonsense.

  33. Dave

No. Not at all. I tried it at the insistence of friends, but found that keeping up with it used up too much of my valuable time.

  34. Mike

It’s a joke…it’s a total cry out for attn….look at me…see me…look what I’ve posted….I have lot’s of friends….PLEASE give me some attn…my god….anyone on social media really needs to seek some help for socializing in the real world….well, the world that existed til this BS came along

  35. danni

I am on almost all social media
If I wasnt I would not be able to see how friends and family are doing. I work night shifts so I don’t get to see any of them as often as I would like. If you are not on any OK good for you. Go back to living in your caves like savages. Its called technology. ITS NOT GOING ANYWHERE!
If I offend someone….get over it!
Life is to short to give a crap what someone else says. Listen..learn..move on!

  36. Taboi

I’m 32 and I despise social media. The only reason I have accounts is to view things that other people send me. My profiles are empty, and any required info is bogus/burner. In this age where the government archives every byte that goes over the internet for later sifting and identity theft is more prevalent than ever before, I see no reason whatsoever to post/blog/tweet about every single even that happens in my life and put sensitive information like my mother’s maiden name, my dog’s name, my favorite sports team etc. (you know, all the answers to those “secret questions” that you have to use for banking and such) out for public consumption. And no, I’m not a technophobe, I’m an IT specialist. Want to know how many times a day hackers in China and Russia test my personal firewall at home?

  37. Taboi

Oh and I know for a fact that this site sells its email address database. The email address I used on this site was created for this site and this site only – and now I get upwards of a thousand spam emails a month.

  38. upstateguy2

I am a private person and I like my life to be my own. No use for social media. If I want to reach out to someone, I e mail them or speak to them on the phone. Is that so old fashioned?

  39. JB

I have all of them but the only ones that I like are Facebook, Instagram, and snapchat. I’ve had Facebook since I was 15 and I’m 25 now so most of my adolescence is on there. My high school experience, college and post-grad. It’s really cool to see ten years of photos and transitioning into the person I am now so in that sense I don’t believe that Facebook is bad. You can still have a private life, you don’t have to post anything that you don’t want to post.

  40. radicalman

Social media? Thought sites like A4A, Farmers Only, etc.,etc., are pretty much the same. Primary difference is “targeted ads”. Not giving away my privacy that easily man.
