After few days, the survey told us the truth: You are all sluts! No I’m joking guys… But nearly 59% of you are using A4A for sex. Around 27% are using A4A for love and dating and 14% had other answers but mainly for friendship. The “uncertain” category also includes those who responded with comments that did not clearly define their own desires.
At the end of the day, A4A is what you make of it. Whether you are looking for love, sex or friends, just know that there are thousands of other guys like you looking for the same exact thing.

Well…..if I’m honest that doesn’t surprise me, from the beginning I had in thought a4a was a hook up site. What bothers me is that apparently there’s no such thing as an actual gay social/dating site/app…..every.single.one….is mainly hook ups or cruising encounters..*sigh*
…and the so-called “eggspurts” wonder why new HIV infections are reaching levels not seen since 1984…riiiiight. Break that down by age demographic, and you clearly see it’s the 13-24 age group that’s leading the pack. That’s because they didn’t live through the holocaust and see the terror that ensued. As far as STDs and HIV goes its really up to the individual to be smart, but lately everyone seems to list they are either positive, on prep, or undetectable or list nothing at all, and state they are just interested in hookups. What I find is when people want relationships theyre not always faithful and want to test other waters. Cant really fault for having the “if you cant beat em, join em” attitude.
It also seems like a lot of people are also into the group and bareback scene these days.

The ads on this site make it very clear the site is focused on hookups and sex. Actual dating websites aren’t plastered with porn.

It makes sense, since at least in my area, the site has a reputation for being the one you go to if you want to get laid. In fact, nearly all the apps and sites seem to develop a distinct purpose. If you were to do the same survey for each individual site or app, you would probably come to a completely different conclusions from each about my social and sex life.
Scruff was always my favorite to look for a boyfriend because the crowd there is very nice (unlike Grindr) and not extremely horny (unlike A4A). A4A is my favorite to hook up on because they are horny on there, but without the bitchiness of a typical Grindr guy in my area or the spam bots. I never got much use out of Grindr, since most of my conversations are with bots making lame attempts to get my number, and at least a year ago it was the app I would go to and see if there was one semi-decent person there, then not touch it for a while.
I like hookups. There is no emotions just sex and that is what I want.

Gay men don’t want to go on an actual date. I’m 58. I remember in the 70s when we did. You went out to eat or to a movie. It was great. It didn’t have to involve sex. What happened? I’m not sure. But the guys now. They want to treat you like you’re not even a human being. Just a thing to satisfy their animal lust. I’m tired of it so I don’t make much of a effort to meet someone. Yes I’m on a4a but again not much effort is made. What is going to happen to the whole gay world. It looks like to me it’s descending down into utter destruction. Strong yes but my opinion. This has always been a HOOK UP site. Gay guys of today only care about getting off and the next dick they get. Even the Married Guys (there are a lot on A4A) are playing with permission. No one wants commitment. It’s sad that it is all about the dick.

It is how ya perceive the site to be. I’m one who is seeking a partner, but without some form of meeting, talkingchatting to get to know the other and him you just stay stuck at home alone.
