A4A : New Design Feedback

You may have noticed that after you log in you have a choice to check out our new design.
Those of you who’ve been trying it out and have already sent us feedback: Thank you!!
We’ve been making some fixes and tweaks already and next week you’ll see some bigger changes based on what you’ve been telling us. We know that you’re passionate about our site and so are we. Thats why we wanted to offer you a preview of the new design so you could check it out. We’re a very small team who are committed to building the best free service possible for you and people like you, so you can meet guys and do your thing. As often as you’d like.
Here’s a quick mini-FAQ about the changes:
Why are you doing this to the site?
We have a lot of cool plans for the the future and we couldn’t make that happen with what we had in place. Most of what changed happened under the covers. We hadn’t given the site a visual update in a very long time and we wanted something fresh and exciting that would let us continue to evolve and improve.
Is this so you can start charging for memberships?
No. Our goal has always been to provide the best multi-platform gay experience for free. That doesn’t mean that we won’t be adding some premium/supporter-only features but we won’t be placing limits on what a free member can do. You can click here to learn more about Premium access.

Sorry you’re upset. Send an email to [email protected] and tell me what didn’t work for you or why you didn’t like it.
Every email will be read and while we may not have time to respond to every one we, as a team, will be paying attention to what you’re saying.
That’s cool but how do I switch it back to the old version?
Go to Mailbox -> Alert Settings and uncheck “Use new version of the site” and click Update Settings.

I go with 2×5 profiles per page because 3×5 requires scrolling down.
looks nice! But using a zoomed in view doesn’t work great on the profile pages…. in chrome try zooming in to 150% or so (ctrl/cmd+plus), and then click on a profile pic. The new window doesn’t show everything. Other than that, nice!

I love the format of the redesigned site. it’s much easier to navigate, keep up the good work!!!!!! KUDOS!!!!!!
The only thing I don’t like, it may be my iPad…when you log in and it sakes you remember you…I end up always have to enter my username and password. It does not save.
The log in process has a bug in the system.
Unlike the old system, once you click the “Remember me” box, you do not have to type out your username each time you log in. Please fix this . It is a waste of our time to keep on having to enter the username each time . I only need to enter my password.

Couple things need fixed:
. pages are to large to fit pc screen now
.milage is not specific enough, i get a lot of cities like Chicago, NYC, LA, and I’m in upstate NY. So these places have similar zips, that needs to be refined.

I tried to use it and could not access the new verion. I did as requested and required and it did not know mw.
Like most site it only a one way communication you to us but never us to you. I could not ask any questions
The button which requests “Do not show my last visit” (or something like that) doesn’t seem to work as cleanly as in the old version. It takes numerous clicks to be sure that it registers.
New site seems very good, one thing I have already found…. Opening the pics on a profile and right clicking allows to save that pic in old version, WILL NOT ALLOW in new version! That’s a Killer for me and Many people! Gotta be able to save pics to make site viable!
Dave:so far I love the changes and the new look the only thing I miss is the instant message set up u had on the old design,when your chatting with some body back and forth you always have to go messages after each message you send and before you can read his response kind of a hassle…Dean
Could you expand the 550 character limit of profiles to 10,000 characters? 550 is microscopic — a guy cannot describe himself well enough.
I love the idea of the new site; the color is amazing and the home page is exactly what I thought should have been there originally. However, most of the time, I am using the website from my phone and I use the desktop version. With the new site, it makes the page too big for my screen and when I zoom out it only uses half my screen but all of the page is not there. I don’t know if that made sense but anyone with any iPhone knows exactly what I’m going through. Can’t wait for the improvements and big fixes!!
I tried the new design for a few days, but didn’t see anything new except that it won’t remember me so logging in is an extra step. Other than that, it looks like someone redesigned all the pages because they thought it was time to do so. I went back to the old design where familiarity makes me much happier. I wish people didn’t think it was required that a website be totally redesigned every so often. Merely changing the layout without giving me real benefits just makes me frustrated. If all the changes are internal to make the site work better, they could have done that without changing the look just to change the look.

Hey guys – Overall I’m liking the changes. Most of us don’t like change and instantly complain when changes are made simply because we are not used to the new look-n-feel. One minor thing to point out (which I’m sure you already know), when viewing the member gallery (online now) there is too much of a margin/negative space on the right hand side and the member thumbnail in the left column five is being cut off. I know there is a scroll bar for left/right scrolling but this is unnecessary if the page is tightened up a bit.

one thing i would like to see you add: under last visit view be nice to see who viewed you without looking at them…could not figure that one out…think the old website allowed you to do that…thx
I like it. I really like the larger pics and the profile text. It is easier to read and the format seems to duplicate the old format except easier to read. Good job!
The new design is great. but the close button on the people’s profile does not work.
Also when u look at a picture it doesn’t close when taped
Not sure if the delete trace work, do not see message that the visit has be deleted…liked this feature on previous version
Found another slight problem with how the online users grid is displayed. Please see my screenshot. With a professional ad the profile text is slightly displayed over the photo.

I can’t access the new version on my android. Not available yet? I’m sure the new version looks great but I really don’t know.

I would change the color of “Send smile” from green to whatever, it seems to much like send message.
I still have the old version. Why is it not available on my android?
The search function with pics only should not show profile if picture is locked.
How come my username is never remembered? I check the block to remember me, but every time I login, I have to re-enter my username!
I thought with the new version, if you had blocked someone, it was now “invisible”…I can still see profiles I have blocked…does it only mean they cannot see my profile..which is fine!
What happened to the android app !! It isn’t in the google play store???
I dont love it , it has effects on the size of pictures and distorts images that were not before . Not a great user improvement .If its esthetic you loose ,if its statistical then i guess you win
I do not like the new website style. For one it looks so plain. When you go to recent visitors. (people who have looked at your profile) It used to turn the rectangle red if the person is on line , when you scrolled over it. It no longer does that. It is not as user friendly. Is there away to change your splash page when you firs log on ? Those are just a couple differences and I know there are more.If you keep it or change it to something different. Bottom line we will get used to it. Still use it.
Two suggestions for improvement. The weight listing, and commas.
Here is a random profile’s stats:
24, 5’11”, 223 lb, 38 w, Average , Brown Hair , Some Body Hair , White , Looking for Friendship, 1-on-1 Sex, 3some/ Group Sex, Relationship, Cam2Cam.
I think you should change the “lb,” to “#,” and put the # right beside the number, so that it looks like “223#,”
Also there is an excessive amount of space in the stats section.
“(space) 5’11” comma”
“(space) average (space) comma”
“(space) brown hair (space) comma”
“(space) some body hair (space) comma”
“(space) white (space) comma”
“looking for (space) friendship”
The above would look best like this:
24, 5’11”, 223#, 38 w, Average, Brown Hair, Some Body Hair, White, Looking for Friendship, 1-on-1 Sex, 3some/ Group Sex, Relationship, Cam2Cam.
Eliminating all those extra spaces, will add a lot of extra “space” on your servers. Also, to fix weight to # instead, will also free up space, and looks classier than “lb”.
I do wish you would add eye color as an option on profiles. For example I prefer men with brown eyes, and I cannot even search them out.
other than what has been mentioned above, I don’t like being told something is missing from my page. I left a public pic out on purpose. The new look is good.
Switched back to the old version. The new one was too bright for me personally and didn’t offer any new features of value.
I like the new design, it needed a freshening. My only suggestion it that you need to look at making the design responsive. I use my iPad and I find myself having to side the page around to see everything or zoom out for each new page. The plus for me is I don’t have to look at the ads on the right, not so good for your advertisers. It can get a little annoying because when I’m scrolling down the page can move side to side also.
I use the standard site on my Windows phone (yes, I do have one). I’ve been trying to understand the two menu buttons at the top of the window. For usability’s sake I would just use one button. I find myself consistently clicking on both to find what I’m looking for. Consolidating them to one would be a big improvement by saving clicks and easing frustration.
I have noticed that when you click the check mark to “Remember Me” on the sign in page, it DOES NOT remember you, I keep having to enter my user id every time, it was not like this before, just had to enter my password, please check it, Thanks.
The new design is very clean and I like it. I would like to see you readjust the space at the top with the links and the search button to allow the full screen of the 5 per line grid of 15 photos to appear without using the scroll bar to see the rest of those at the bottom. All it takes is to adjust the font to the links, use current rows instead of splitting them into three, and maybe move the search button. While the current layout adds white space to the top of the screen, it’s not as useful as seeing the full photos on my 15″ laptop screen without scrolling.
Should be like time available on status (Not “Right Now” on status).
When I first go to adam4adam.com it shows the old site home page until I sign in and then sign out, once I do that the new homepage shows up.
To switch back to the old version, you can go to Mailbox Alerts and uncheck “Use new version of the site” and click “update settings”.
Yeah, umm, this doesn’t work. When I go to Mailbox Alerts and settings, there’s no “Use new version of the site” to check or uncheck. What’s up??
I followed the instructions to go back to the old design:

I don’t have “Use new versin of the site” to check or uncheck. It’s not there at all. So how do I go back to Adam4Adam CLASSIC?

Let me clear….I LOTHE this new site and want to go back to the old. It doesn’t show everything on my phone like the old site did. Now you made it impossible for us to go back and I beg of you to let us.
I love the new layout but I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to delete my private picture. I ended up having to switch back to the old version to do so. Now that I’ve deleted it, I want to switch back to the new version but I don’t see an option anywhere on the site to do so.
The new 2018 version is the worst thing ever. Anything I click on takes me to a dead page. Am I the only one? I’m desperate to have the old site back.
