Watch This: Chinese Building Likened to a Giant Penis
A phallic-shaped building, anyone? Yes, there is one according to the tweeps over at Twitter who are clearly entertained going by the flurry of tweets regarding this topic and why not a building this time around? After all, we’ve already seen it all before: a penis park in South Korea, a penis over Okanogan skies, and a penis geoglyph so huge it is actually visible from space and Google Maps caught a satellite image of it.
Unlike its predecessors (“The Gherkin” or 30 St Mary Axe in London and the “Brick Dick” or the Ypsilanti Water Tower in Michigan), this building called Guangxi New Media Center sports what look like a pair of, er, testicles situated at the base of the building inspiring memes and fueling humor on social media further. One netizen described the building as “stimulating” while another called it as the “official organ of the Chinese state.”
Such a stimulating picture. Sorry, I couldn’t help it.. lol

Some building look like buildings, other buildings can look like animals. This skyscraper in China looks like something you might find in a men’s locker room shower. https://t.co/S2CvFJNLAL

Concerns have been raised about the Guangxi New Media Center… surely an official organ of the Chinese state. pic.twitter.com/0LB1S2kfhu

Apart from poking fun at the building’s “penis-like” façade, an “artificially enhanced” video clip is circulating online. During Guangxi New Media Center’s recently concluded grand opening event which they held in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival, a fireworks display was launched into the air right from the building’s roof (they say the sight made the building look like a massive penis ejaculating, their words not mine). A video which captured the moment was edited to make it look like the fireworks burst into colorful hearts.
OMG. NO. FUCKING. WAY. This is my hometown. Of course this is what it’ll be famous for. Very on brand with my dick jokes 🙌 I love you #Nanning https://t.co/RigoCXO24z

Not going to lie I laughed a lot. No way this was a mistake. I tip my hat to the architects for having the… ba- fortitude to pull… that… off. Enjoy state prison.

Anyway, the building in question is located in Nanning, southwest China’s Guangxi region and no, it wasn’t supposed to resemble the penis. Apparently, Guangxi New Media Center—which took two years to complete—was built to pay homage to Guangxi and Yunnan province’s historical rice terraces.
Does the structure resemble the terraced slopes of Guangxi and Yunnan’s famed rice terraces? Tell us what you see in the comments section, guys and happy viewing!
