Hey, guys! Did you watch Adam Rippon‘s debut at the Dancing with the Stars: Athletes (DWTS) last night? I thought he was fabulous! He and his partner, American ballroom dancer Jenna Johnson, danced the cha cha to RuPaul’s “Sissy that Walk” and I thought they absolutely owned the dance floor. It wasn’t just me who think that, by the way, the judges happen to agree. The duo received a score of 24 out of 30 and now they’re up to the first place with Josh Norman, NFL cornerback, and his partner Australian ballroom dancer Sharna Burgess.

Watch Adam and Jenna’s performance below.

This year is an all-athletes season for Dancing with the Stars and if you haven’t already heard yet, apart from Adam Rippon the show also features his fellow Olympians Mirai Nagasu (figure skater), Jamie Anderson (snowboarder), Jennie Finch Daigle (softball player), and Chris Mazdzer (luger). The remaining participants include retired NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Notre Dame women’s basketball star Arike Ogunbowale, and retired baseball player Johnny Damon.

To support Adam, there’s an online voting on ABC.com and Facebook. There’s also a toll free phone voting which will open during the May 7 and 14 shows. Toll free voting is only open from 8:00 p.m. ET to 5:00 a.m. ET while online voting will close at 8:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday May 8 and Tuesday May 15, respectively. Adam Rippon’s and Jenna Johnson’s toll free phone number for voting by phone is 1 800 868 3401 FREE.

So, how did you like Adam Rippon’s performance last night? Because of his amazing DWTS debut performance, critics are asking if he has what it takes to win Dancing with the Stars: Athletes. What do you think guys? Share with us your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

He was soooo “F#€×ing” good!!! and his personality is infectious.
I like a more masculine guy, but I recognize quality when I see it, and Adam dances amazingly.
So glad for him. I won’t predict a winner but he could be the one!

Mainline media acknowledged his skills and eyed him as a clear contender. But it quickly added that he was “polarizing”. DWTS contestants are rated by judges, but they are also rated by an audience vote which is heavily tied to personality and popularity.

By raising the “polarizing” flag, is the media forecasting that he is alienating the audience? Will his polarizing cost him the trophy?

He won! And rightfully so. Adam was nothing short of Amazing or Fantastic or whatever positive definition you pull out of your hat!!

    Congratulations!
