Music: Listen to Kylie Minogue’s “Dancing”

Kylie Minogue is back with a new single titled “Dancing.” It’s the first track to her upcoming album called Golden which is set for release this coming April 6. Golden is her first album since Kylie Christmas which was released way back in 2015.

Of Dancing, Kylie said via her Instagram account, “Lyrically, ‘Dancing’ is really interesting. I guess, on the surface, it is about dancing and going out and having a good fun.” She added, “And it’s also about going out, at the end, and having had a good time. So living life to the fullest, trying to shine whenever you can. I know life is difficult, life presents all sorts of hurdles for us, but we try to dance through that when we can.”

Indeed, Dancing is all about living our life to the fullest and dancing (and maybe fumbling) our way through difficult situations. But the song also speaks about dancing with our loved ones and being there for each other always, through thick and thin, and not just when the situation calls for it.

No one wants to stay at home/Nobody wants to be alone/When you come knocking, I’ll be at your door.

But perhaps my most favorite lines are found on the bridge of the song because it reminds us everybody’s got their own hardships but that we should not let these get us down. That we should use these hardships to push ourselves to be a better person instead, and that we should always do our best no matter what our circumstance in life is.

Everybody’s got a story/Let it be your blaze of glory/Burning bright, never fade away/And when the final curtain falls, we could say we did it all/The never ending of a perfect day

Rolling Stone called the new song “euphoric” while ecstatic fans over at Twitter described it as “pure joy,” “fantastic,” “absolutely wonderful,” and “golden.” Listen to Kylie’s new song below.
