A locker room scandal that seemed to have started as a dare has spiraled into something uncontrollable when the video went viral online. The video reportedly changed hands among the team and eventually found its way on various social media.

The whole thing ended with the participants—reportedly soccer players from Sport Club Gaúcho—getting released from their contracts.

The video was only about ten seconds long. It showed a man giving two other men a hand job in the showers while the person filming could be heard in the background laughing. Watch the video below.

In an interview with UOL Sport—Gilmar Rosso—president of Sport Club Gaúcho, had said he tried to watch the video but he stopped because he “found it disgusting.” Rosso added, “I am not a guardian of morality and good manners, I do not care what they do or do not do. The only thing that I was angry about, the only thing I prohibit here is photo and filming, nothing without our permission.”

While the club has “no prejudice against anyone, whether of race, color or anything else,” Rosso said the decision was made to “spare the players from humiliation at the hands of supporters.” “Imagine when they went on the field, what they were going to hear!” Rosso added, “As far as I know, these three are not gay, but now they would have to prove (to the fans) that they are not gay.”

If the players were let go to spare them and if they would have to prove they are not gay, then this begs the question whether they would have been let go in the first place if the person who was giving them a hand job was a woman.

What do you think guys? Would things have been different if the players were horsing around with a woman instead? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section below!

The team organization and sponsors probably experienced embarrassment because their first duties are to corporation and revenue. Penises would not mix in that basket of concerns. If the players were among the hero footballers, their celebrity and notoriety would be enhanced among team supporters and chided among team rivals. If the players were ordinary or considered liabilities to their team, they might indeed suffer derision and humiliation that would be quite separate from the corporate experience. This is the analysis of a somewhat cynical, 70year old GWM.

I am half Brazilian .. from Rio .. it doesn’t matter if they are gay or straight, they were joking around. The crowd would have continued to cheer them on regardless because most of them have done something similar. Total overkill from the president but his point is the league’s prejudicial point so that’s what took precedence.

The club president, Gilmar Rosso, has since spoken to local news outlet Zero Hora about the incident, and he’s said the following:

“When I hit play, I deleted it, I think it’s disgusting.

Outside business hours we have nothing to do with the situation. If they want to get drunk, drink, gay or not, that’s their problem.

What I have to answer as president is during a trip, office hours. That’s my responsibility.

The Gaucho Sport Club is not a keeper of morals and good manners. The only thing wrong was to make the video inside the locker room.

If the video had been heterosexual in nature, the same decision would be taken.”

I think the reactions are flat out stupid. It was some guys horsing around, what’s wrong with that??? Absolutely nothing. It’s high time people grow up and accept things for what they are

This should be no big deal in 2017 with men playing around in the locker room. The really sad part is that it was recorded and leak to the press. When will we learn to keep things between us in “Vegas”? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

No slight or discrimination present in this situation so let’s play what-if and fins some way to feel victimized. This is purely a projection by the author here, nothing else except to foster the mentality that at every turn there is discrimination whether real or perceived.

Let’s see if my comment gets censored. If it is published, at least the moderator is open to publishing all opinions, even those that dont align to the standard narrative.

This is not a matter of homosexual vs. heterosexual sex. It’s matter of being blame stupid in a workplace where millions of dollars are on the line when it comes to the organization’s public image. If a woman had been in the leaked video, the guys would have been fired. As with all “Scandals!” of this type, no one will give it a monent’s thought in a few weeks. Within months, teams hungry for the playing talents these guys have will sign them, perhaps even the team they were fired from after “some thoughtful reconsideration.”

The manager was obviously prejudiced in that one statement but then I remembered, as with all other aspects in life, the sporting world is deeply homophobic. If a woman had found her way into the locker room, there’d be two outcomes. Sexual harrassment (if she claims she was coerced) resulting in termination of contracts OR nothing (if she claims she was a willing participant).
