News: Donald Trump’s Anti-LGBTQ Order Leaked

It looks like Donald Trump is setting his sights on the LGBTQ community, just right after he's caused chaos, confusion, and heartbreak with the Muslim ban executive order.

In a shocking report released by The Nation, it looks like Donald Trump will be signing a new executive order next week that will have a chilling effect on the LGBTQ community.

Titled the ” Establishing a Government-Wide Initiative to Respect Religious Freedom,” the leaked executive order allows widespread exemptions for businesses and individuals to discriminate in employment based on sexual orientation, gender identity, reproductive choices and more.

Beyond that, the executive order also allows these exemptions to be allowed in housing, goods and services, and government contracts. Put plainly, any establishment – whether commercial or part of the government – can refuse to service the needs of LGBTQ people if it goes against their religious beliefs.

For instance, adoption agencies will be allowed to refuse LGBTQ parents. Transgender individuals could be removed from their jobs. And more than being refused a cake for their wedding, gay couples could be refused rooms at hotels should it run contrary against the establishment's religious beliefs.

These organizations are protected by the part of the executive order that states it will protect groups who believe “marriage is or should be recognised as the union of one man and one woman, sexual relations are properly reserved for such a marriage, male and female and their equivalents refer to an individual’s immutable biological sex as objectively determined by anatomy, physiology, or genetics at or before birth, and that human life begins at conception and merits protection at all stages of life.”

This latest executive order is just the latest in Trump's anti-LGBTQ moves. His vice-president, for instance, believes in controversial conversion therapy, and he has Ken Blackwell, notorious anti-LGBTQ activist, as part of his transition team.

How do you feel about this ominious potential new executive order? Do you still feel Trump is looking out for the LGBTQ community, as he previously said he would? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Oh, as a FYI, I wont publish racist comments, facist comments, comments written in caps, comments bitching one’s opinion, impolite or inappropriate comments. I already deleted 3 so be advised. A4A stands for tolerance, acceptance, love and support. Not hate, not segregation, not bitching. Yes it is a blog and we want to hear respectful opinions, but if you can’t write and respect other’s opinion, don’t write anything. Your opinion is not more important than another’s and your opinion is not necessarily THE good one!

I am both Christian and gay. I do think that is us important to protect all groups. If churches, pastors, don’t want to have a gay and or lesbian wedding bc it’s against their beliefs, that’s fine with me. Doctors don’t tell those who don’t believe in a blood transfusion for religious reasons that they have to or they will go to jail. Neither should we condemn. Anyway, I don’t think that hotels, stores, companies, should have the right to refuse you based on religious convictions, they are public ran, they don’t have religion to claim.

With that idea about Cakes is what you feel then I would be forced to print T-Shirts for Westboro Baptist Church. It works both ways. NO American should be forced to do something that is against their conscience no matter what it is. We have something called Liberty. We are Free people and the Feds can’t force us to do something we do not want to.

None of this nonsense will ever be allowed to stand regardless of supreme courts, laws created, or even the constitutional, when we have had enough we will not stand until it’s corrected. No paper in the world can put out a fire when a human has been pushed too far. Revolt, stand united and never settle for anything other than a non biased Government for everyone.

    OMG!!
I heard they were taking the building materials from the inauguration stage and building a gallows to have public hangings of the alphabet people.

  3. Juan

Dave, you should stop trying to push your liberal agenda down our throats. Mr Trump is not a homophobe. I’m tired of seeing the media sensationalize everything for their own propaganda!

    • Dave

I’m not trying to push anything, I’m just being real and stating what I believe, nothing more. I also don’t care if you’re tired, you’ll never see a pro Trump article on here…

      • Mike

Dave, I think you are a good moderator but you are dead wrong about President Trump.
I understand you’re biased against him but as you know there are always at least 2 sides to a story. Please don’t be one sided.

        • Dave

Mike, I have no patience for people that don’t respect basic things like sexual orientation or other’s faith, ethnicities or other even gender… I’ve never liked him as a person, it’s not gonna change. Until he proves me wrong and start being respectful.

          • debubby

Respect and tolerance goes both ways. How can you ever expect your sexual orientation to be tolerated if you don’t tolerate people who believe differently?

          • Dave

because sexual orientation is NOT an opinion. Do straight people ask for your opinion to fuck pussies? Then I dont wanna hear about their opinion.

          • debubby

Sexual orientation may not be a choice for most people, but their opinions about other people’s orientations are. Lots of gay guys seem bitter at straight guys for “fucking pussies”… does that make any sense? No. You don’t want to hear their opinion, but you want yours heard? That makes no sense either. Your superiority complex will not achieve anything—you are acting like you are the tolerant one (tolerant in promoting minority sexual orientations) while being intolerant in condemning the majority and/or other minorities! Again, not respecting others’ beliefs will not magically earn your beliefs any respect from those who currently don’t have any for them.

          • Bart

Well debubby, there is a difference. We have heard their opinion for centuries. That opinion as it concerns this executive order, is that we could be denied housing. Give businesses the right to refuse us goods and services, that any other customer receives. Denied because of the gender of who we love is not accepted by their religion. Should a business be allowed to deny services or goods to a jew, Hindu, Scientologist, an atheist because their religion believes things contrary to theirs. It could deny adoptable children, that need homes, the chance to be adopted by loving parents. We could be denied government contracts without any recourse because, it will be protected by law that we could be discounted only because we are attracted to the same sex. Personally, I believe, as it is in many countries, that all marriages should be preformed, registered, and legalized by local government.. If you need the religious sanctioning it should be done either before or after the civil ceremony. If you want to be married, the mandatory civil ceremony should be the legal and binding union . So, If your religion refuses to marry you for being gay and you want to remain in that religion, then you need to start being vocal and getting other gay people in your denomination to start conversation with the powers that be. If that religion still won’t accept you, look for one that does. Not all religions are anti LGBTQ.
Now to the veiled truth… if gay people have the same rights as straight people, what rights would The LGBTQ people of this country be denying these religious groups, businesses, commercial establishments, landlords, and the government itself?
I have given this thought. The answer finally came to me! We would be denying their right to discriminate against us. Their right to treat us like second class citizens. Their right to tell us where we can spend our money. Their right to tell us what we can do. What we can’t do. Who to do it with. Unless we all have to show sexual orientation cards, how can they be sure that someone is gay or straight? We would be denying them the authority to outright refuse us access to a multitude of things. That refusal should speaks to all of the LGBTQ commmunity as it does to me. Their refusal says loud and clear I do not approve of you, I do not want to do business with you, I am better morally than you, and your status as a human being is so unequal to mine that the law protects me and stands behind me to say “NO” because of who you are what you are, and who you are attracted to.

    • Wmijackhammer

Juan, did you notice Dave’s addendum to the original article? Anyone’s opinion is welcome, as long as it agrees with the author. Such a perfect example of a liberal’s belief in free speech, similiar to what we observed in Berkley yesterday when a gay man dare to not tow the liberal line. The entire article is written based on nothing factual, just someone’s opinion of what THEY think Trump will do. As said, more fake news, and queer drama.

        • Wmijackhammer

Actually Dave, “comments bitching someone’s opinion ” is exactly what that is, regardless of whether you are honest enough to admit it or not.

        • Rick

Keep up the Good work Dave! I beleive he will be impeached within the first year! But, Look who comes next! And, after that if we get rid of both!

  4. Silas

But you see, there is no ban on muslims. There is only a 90 day suspension on immigration from areas of the world where the citizens are well known for wanting to kill us. You want to talk about homophobia and a threat to LGBT, well there you have it, importing people who come from a backwards and upside down nations where they would KILL people like us. Trump is here for us and everything has has said and done thus far has been pro LGBT. Pence did not sign legislation to shock gays/send them to conversion camp; he made it so that those seeking conversion therapy-who want to be dumb and waste thousands of their own dollars on something that doesn’t work-can do so and learn their lessons on how to accept themselves. Oh by the way, what about President Trump enforcing Obama’s 2014 executive order on LGBT non-discrimination in the workplace?

    • franco

Hey I guess you are one of the 20% of gays that voted for trump. Dave, maybe these ladies with pelotas were too busy checking out dicks that they missed the news today!
Luis, not for nothing but I would bet my left ball that you are Cuban a you probably I’ve in Miami. You voted heavily for trump expecting more goodies. Nah, he sees you just as another Latino undocumented and he wants you out!
Many on here have no idea of the hardship that many in the gay community had to endure to reach the little achievements to date. You wasn’t listining to his rethoric during the campaign. Once again you probably was too busy insulting Muslims while watching porno and jacking off!
While you hit on Dave, remember that many of gays got married, work and devlare taxes that pay for you Juan to sit on a4a watching pingas, dancing at twist, drinking rum, and collecting SSI while all you have to do is say I hate Fidel! …well he’s dead now. To all the others who believe gha we liberals are making this thing up, change your channel from FOX new the eal fake news, get your head out of your chulo ( hey Dave its only bad if I say it in English) and watch CNN r any other foreign new network and learn what he is really doing.
Lastly, daybeforelast were the jews, yesterday were the Mexicans (that means latinos juan, he doesn’t care about the differance) and today are the Muslims. ..tomorrow when he comes for us (you) here will be no one to help us.
Tired of pendejos who want to be ignorant!…thank you Dave.

      • Bart

So a ban on the Muslims? The Pentagon suspended the issuing of U.S. visas or travel permits to people from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Not a single American was killed on U.S. soil by citizens from any of those countries between 1975 and 2016. However, the same set of statistics show that nearly 3,000 Americans were killed by citizens from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt in the same time period — with the bulk of those killed being victims of the 9/11 attacks. Yet, people from those three countries were still welcome to apply for U.S. visas and travel permits.

Why? In a striking parallel, Trump’s sprawling business billionaire empire — which he has refused to rescind ownership of — holds multi-million dollar licensing and development deals in all of those countries, raising potential conflict of interest concerns and alarming questions over what actually went into the decision process behind his executive order.

  5. Gmaestro25

Once again we have a very bias one sided article on something that may or may not exist. Every day I log on I see hatred thrown at our president that is usually wrong and absurdly bias towards the writers own beliefs, views, and opinions.

I am a gay man, however I do not share the views or the opinions of most of the lgbqt community. They keep saying everyone should accept us and make life easier for us. But the lgbqt community doesn’t reciprocate that belief. The moment someone says they don’t believe in gay marriage I see some of the most hateful things I have ever heard/read all over the media’s. To gain respect you must respect others. Which means to ignore people who have a different opinion than yours rather than lash out, which sadly for the most part this community does not do.. again, I am gay but do not identify with the mainstream gay community.

That being said, the fact that we have laws that force people to accept what they don’t believe or whatnot is crazy.

Is discrimination wrong. Yes…. but is it wrong to force people against their beliefs. Also yes. It’s a crappy situation.

If this is a real order. Is it right no. But neither is what is in place now.

I really wish adam4adam would reel the writer of these articles in. This is a hookup site. I come here to find a way to escape the bull outside my door and to relax and have fun. Not to read fake news based on stuff that is not even certain.

    • Dave

Gmaestro25, #1, A4A will not remove me from A4A. #2 I don’t want to know your opinion if you are FOR gay marriage or NOT. This is NOT an opinion. If you are against it, you are discriminating, simple as that. Am I against straight marriage? If you can’t understand that, ask someone to explain. It’s like saying ” I don’t believe hispanic people should marry” … If you say such a thing, that’s discrimination. You don’t run a country based on what YOU believe, but what everyone believes, whether they are black, yellow, christian, bisexual, homo, buddhist, or jew. Politics has nothing to do with religion and opinions and what YOU believe or what Crump believes. Everyone must feel free to do what they want, not based on YOUR religion or opinion. Based on the best for everyone, because everyone is equal.

    • James

I absolutely agree 100% , it’s not a ban you’re absolutely right it’s a 90 day suspension for countries who are known to harbor terrorist. Many other Muslims are allowed to travel. I do not object to keeping America safe! I also do not object to immigration, as long as the proper steps are taken in obtaining citizenship. Nothing is free no matter what it is, someone is paying for it (tax payers ) I know we have all fallen on hard times and need a helping hand, but not turn it into a full time profession of taking advantage of the system. I know the party of love and understanding is not the kind of appearance that they are showing people. I feel that burning buildings, cars, busting windows is not understanding and love. You can’t say that you’re “understanding ” but attack someone who doesn’t agree with everything you do, we are all human we don’t like the same food, clothes, drinks or weather for that matter. We are all different that’s what makes us unique, there is unity in diversity. . If everyone was the same think how boring life would be. I personally didn’t like Obama, I did not agree with alot of his views but I never busted windows or set fires in the streets. I’m cool with Trump personally. Who knows we may have a female president after, fine by me as long as Americans needs and safety come first.

    • Timothy

You’re using the term, “American” and , “Citizen”, a bit loosely here. It only proves that a Muslin ban is necessary, if even the Muslims who have become American citizens are still so willing to commit such atrocities on our soil, then clearly we need no more terrorists in our country than Barack Hussein Obama has allowed in over the last eight yrs.

    • Timothy

      Gmaestro25
That was well said and beautifully written. You are not alone in your beliefs. Of course your comment of tolerance was responded to by Dave with his usual, hateful rhetoric. It seems such a simple concept, live and let live…yet, unfortunately, the Liberal gay “activists” will never be tolerant of anyone who doesn’t believe as they do. They will continue to spew hate for God and Christians and just anyone who dares disagree, all in the name of “Love and tolerance “.

    • franco

I left a reply to someone before. I see there are lots of Latinos here that are offended by the news that Dave shared with us today. Sad. I would also bet that most of these Latinos are Cubans. I have some sad news for you, Fidel is dead. Dead, dead, dead. You can’t suck the system no,mo’…
You have to work now, oh, come on, don’t get angry and start fussing. Your president thinks that you are Mexican because you are Latino and he wants you out!
      No more goodies!

    • Maiiitaiii

You have a very valid point however bc they’re not saying they have to believe what they believe in just accept it. What is wrong with allowing every citizen in this country that pay taxes and votes in the general election the right to the same freedoms every heterosexual gets. they just want equal rights and not be discriminated against bc they’re not the traditional man or woman.

  6. Ben

Oh please, for all we know this is fake. And honestly, it’s not that bad. All this religious freedom stuff barely affects anyone anyway. If somone won’t bake you a cake cuz your gay, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

    • Dave

Ben, that’s not about a cake, I totally agree with that. It’s beyond a cake. If they’re too stupid or religious to make a gay cake, then fuck them. But if you can’t get a job at McDonalds because you’re gay, that’s a big problem.

    • Wmijackhammer

But but, he can’t be because he has actually read the Constitution and doesn’t tow the same old “required” gay thought lines.

  7. rick

OHH stop this is ALL fake news and BS the liberal cry babies want us to believe !
wish they would all GROW up, and stop believing every stupid thing they read and hear do you own research .. i have its all allot of BS, the paid anarchists what us to believe to keep the country divided and push their own agenda! remember divvied we fall ALL fall the whole country !! We have it the BEST in the WORLD!!

    • Peter

If you’re an American what do u have best in the world comparing to other 1st world nations?…education? Health care? Crime? Don’t think so

    • James

George Soros, billionaire pumping millions into this crazy shenanigans, the guy worked for Hitler and considered it the best years of his life. That should be an eye opener for people.

  8. John MacLean

The Religious Freedom law already in place in Mr. Pence’s Indiana is currently impacting lives of people. I have a good friend who was traveling back to Minnesota from a visit with his family in NYC last September. They registered in a hotel in Indiana, just off of the turnpike, and the owner came up to their room and told them they had to leave because they are a gay couple. It’s shocking that this can happen in a public facility because the owner objected to their relationship.

  9. Harv

This could all get a whole lot worse, inexperience on trump’s part is what always concerned me and why I voted as I did. Simply never having held a governmental office was my main concern……so guys, here we go….hang on for the ride it’s going to be wild to say the least……hopefully there won’t be any concentration camps for us in the USA as happened in Germany barely not even 100 years ago. History repeats itself the always say, lets hope not !

  10. anonimatovato

My personal take on this (if this is even true since it’s rumored ‘leaked’ order) is that the best way to fight this is with our pocket book. Don’t go to places that doesn’t cater to Lgbtq and it’ll hurt business in on time. Look at what happened at Fil a chick (or however it’s spelled), it took major protests for them to chance their stance and welcome everyone. I’m still not buying it but whatever works for them I guess.

When people are running a public business, I think religion and politics should be kept in the closet lol Because I want to purchase an item, not your moral believes lol

As for the workforce, that be scary if they can deny you just because you’re lbgtq.

      • Juan

Dave, please don’t be stupid and use Google or Wikipedia as your resource or anything off of the internet for your little list. Try real journalism and get your information straight from the source. i.e. If you’ve heard or suspect that A&F is donating to anti-gay causes, then go and interview someone representing A&F and simply state the facts. Leave your personal feelings aside. And that is the problem with most of the media and news outlets here in the US.

And PS, I voted and donated hundreds of dollars to Hillary. But Trump won and I accept it and will continue to be a law abiding citizen and I will be just fine. Unless he does something absurdly stupid like make it illegal to be gay… then I will be just fine.

        • Dave

I don’t consider A4A as a media, it’s gay dating/hookup site. The blog is where people can talk about different subjects, whether it is health, love of politics. As for my source, google it yourself, the leaked was talked about on many gay rights sites, blogs, and news sites.

  11. tom

Wow…someone finally got it right. Thank you royalthings. To force a religious individual to have to go against the teachings of the Bible is absolutely incorrect. Gays cannot and should not try to rewrite the word of God no matter how you/they believe. It is against and not tolerated in any religion, Christianity nor Muslim. God only recognizes MF marriage…leave it alone. There’s civil unions that states and the federal gov’t recognize. Don’t force yourselves on others or established norms of religion. Christ would say to obey Caesar’s laws and that hold true to the Bible. You can have your mm marriages..just keep God out of it. It’s not allowed under the rule of God.

  12. John in Bama

Even of these ridiculous Trump rulings are found to be unconstitutional Trump can fill the supreme court with ultra conservative vacancies and we will still have them able to complete disrupt my marriage and my life.

  13. GAM

Donald Trump is a good guy ! I do not believe what your saying. Every thing he has done so far is good for the USA. You Democrats all you do is complain, Give him a Chance.

    • TiredOfIt

LMAO!!! A “good guy?” He’s a borderlin criminal narcissist with possible psychotic and substance abuse featuers. I guess they don’t teach that in grade school…..

  14. George

You can live your life as a perpetual victim if you choose.
I’m successful, happy, liberated, and Republican!!
    QuitYourSillyAssBellyAching people!!

  15. Timothy

Oh Dave, you just won’t give it a break. There is something about America that you, and the rest of the left wing liberals, don’t comprehend- you DO have the freedom to live your life as you wish; however, others also have the right not to agree with it. EVERYONE in our country has personal freedom, that includes anti-gay Christian groups, ect. To legislate away their right to religious beliefs simply to “protect” you, sounds extremely fascist to me.

  16. earl

I have to ask to all the conservatives that is commenting on this article, leak ….I cannot for the life me understand why your on this site called A4A….Are you still in the ????…

  17. Jeff

I can’t say I’m surprised that a politician has changed their tune after getting settled in office…I am saddened by the. Electoral college placing this man in office we as a community should have fought harder to get the right candidate elected now we are forced to endure the god complex of this president wielding his montblanc pen to abuse his executive order powers..

  18. jim

Have you Trumpeteers not been paying attention to who is being appointed and nominated, starting with the vice presidential pick? I am really astonished by your allegiance.

  19. niceguy-111

Sounds like more inaccuracies and fake news to me.. If this website doesn’t get out of the left wing spin business, I’m going to pull my ad and move on.
I’m not on here to hear listen to other peoples political opinions!!!

    • Dave

You don’t need to read the blog if you don’t wanna hear people’s opinion. FYI this is the writer’s opinion, mine, not A4A’s even though I know that A4A is pro gay, yes. That has nothing to do with left or right, simply with gay rights, nothing else.

  20. debubby

I do believe that the religious wishes of private individuals and business should be respected. I believe that discrimination on the part of the same should be respected. If someone does not want to hire gays or Asians or fat people, fine. I wouldn’t want to work there anyways. And I and others don’t have to do business with them if that’s their policy. People and business should be free to discriminate, and free to accept the consequences of that behavior. I expect my beliefs to be respected and entertained by others, and so I feel compelled to respect others’ opinions too. I don’t have to like them.

But the government should absolutely not be prejudiced or discriminating against anyone for any reason. The government is established by laws and the law must be blind. If a person who is employed by the government finds that their religious or personal values conflict with their obligations of their employment, then they should resign.

I am a big supporter of the Trump government, and his representing of the cutting-down-to-size of the government which is badly needed. But I will not support any policies that encourage discrimination or prejudice by the government. That is evil, if not tyrannical, and that is NOT why we voted for Mr. Trump.

      • Mikey

Organized religion is nothing more than a cult wrapping themselves in the bible and then using it for their own twisted selfishness.

        Ezekiel 25-17
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I”m not religious. But my brother is a minister and this is the scripture he presented to me and sad God is going to be pretty angry at Trump when his judgment day comes… Too all those who do good for others. Thank you!! To those who think it’s ok to discriminate and divide the American people through hate… will wear the mark of shame on their souls.

        Jesus loved everyone.
        God is love.

All this divisive nonsense is insulting to free thinkers and free thinking in a free society. This infringes on my right to pursue happiness. Just sayin’… And to think… he’s just getting started. 🙁 Somethings stinks when the popular vote is overridden by the team that technically lost. This is wrong. This isn’t fair.. nor is it just!!
I say if you want to be president. you must give in to a mental evaluation and turn over all of your tax records to ensure there is no conflict of interest. That did not happen this election cycle and it was a HUGE mistake. My grandmother would be screaming bloody murder right about now may she rest in peace. So I will take her place in doing so!!
I love you all!! Please hang in there this is going to get worse before it gets better.

This issue brings to light a tough question for society: whose rights are greater than whose? Religious freedom has been long understood as a pillar of the US, LGBTQ rights have become mainstream.

But what happens when those two collide? How is there religious freedom when those who practice a particular religion are told they are not free to openly practice their beliefs about the LGBTQ Community? How can there be LGBTQ rights when those are affected are told “no service”?

Many religious people see LGBTQ rights as non-viable. Many LGBTQ proponents see religion as non-viable.

Those on the radical ends of the religious/LGBTQ spectrum will disagree with teeth barred. They cannot be looked to find a solution. It’ll be up to the majority in the middle to find the reasonable, fair, moral, ethical balance point. And maybe those on the radical ends will need to accept their own dissatisfaction with the overall outcome.

    • debubby

      You make excellent points.

All of our rights have reasonable limits. You cannot yell “Fire” in a crowded venue just because it increases your happiness, and you can’t murder those who annoy you just because it increases your happiness. Our legal quandaries derive from where those limits are, because obviously there are differences of important opinions such as when human life begins or what is best for all of society. Not everyone can or will be pleased. The radical ends, as you call them, want all or nothing. Intelligent discourse and compromise is the ultimate solution, and unfortunately, those that yell the loudest are least likely to accede to that.

Personally, I make no apologies for being an extremely conservative mostly-gay bisexual adult man. I carefully consider my opinions and decide what I think based on what I see as best for everyone, not just myself or others like me. People that know me describe me as intelligent and level-headed. That doesn’t mean I have been exposed to every nuance of every issue, but I like to think I have a pretty good idea on what is going on around me. And the way I see it, every time the homosexual community emphasizes how homosexual they are, they alienate themselves from the mainstream of society. That needs to stop. Most gay people are regular people, but too few are given the chance to come to that realization on their own terms.

      • Bart

Do you think we have gotten here if we stayed in the closet and didn’t emphasize who we are and how we are discriminated against? The problem with the gay community is not emphasizing who they are. That’s like saying the black civil rights movement in the 1960’s should not have emphasized that they were black. Or Women’s Liberation should not emphasize that they are women. Discrimination comes from the fact that groups are diminished by others for that unifying factor. Being Black, female, Hispanic, Asian, or LGBTQ is the unifying factor for each of the groups and some individual can identify with 2 or even more groups. In the 1960’s the vast majority of African Americans were poor. Few made it to working class or lower middle class. The South with separate but equal laws was destroying the country. Think of relatives of yours or even just people from your ancestors native lands such as Ireland, Greece, Poland. Imagine your group singled out and told you can not attend the same theater, restaurant, hair salon, bar, school, and even church…. and you must marry in the same nationality. You must drink from this water fountain and not that one. You must ride the back of the bus, If you are a pregnant black woman in the first black row of a full bus and white young man gets on , you have to give up that seat and stand. That’s right, most people don’t know that. Any infringement on any of the rules violated the law and could mean being arrested. Blacks rioted all over the country against this injustice based on hate and fear. They had enough. I would have too.The riots were so bad that cities like Detroit, Newark, and Camden have never really recovered. Possibly they never will.. This is the action that had to be taken to force the hand of Lyndon Johnson to abolish separate but equal
Women only received the right to vote in I think 1919. More than half of the population were not allowed to vote. just the shear number of the oppressed group wielded power.
This is where the problem lies in the LGBTQ community. Blacks were unfairly oppressed and almost all shared poverty. Women were the majority of the population and they pushed hard when the they were ready to and had to fight for the right to vote in their own country. Gay people have an incohesive twist. We span all economic groups and we lack the numbers at less than 5% of the population. Many wealthy LBGTQ and those in the upper middle class are less affected by discrimination. Having just about all you want materialistically is not everything, but it a huge block to feeling discrimination. Very high end housing and a expensive lifestyle without financial worries will not make that part of the gay population passionate or even have much concern about civil rights. They have more freedom than middle and working class straight people. I think many will vote their wallet and want the absurd tax breaks for their tax bracket. Our community runs right down to the poorest of our society. It is hard to unify and motivate the gay population when income levels run the whole scale and the polarity in the lifestyle from wealthy to homeless will not bring people with such vastly different lifestyles together for the common cause.

  22. RoyalThings

One why is everyone picking on Dave? Yes there are 3 sides to every story and if his belief doesn’t line up with yours or if yours doesn’t link with his qué será (it happens). If you don’t support it, then don’t comment on it, rather than lead to an argument where everyone looks bad. And Two, never mind, nothing can top that

  23. CZR2181

Dave let me correct you. Donald Trump did not ban Muslims he’s banned terrorist please be clear with your words. President Obama wanted to shove a half a million syrians who are Muslims down our throats Flood our country with people that hate our way of life. extreme vetting must be part of our process of allowing people into this country.and if you need any examples look at Florida Belgium Paris. and if you need any more reason to build the wall between Mexico and the United States the last tunnel that was built by the drug dealers from Mexico actually had ventilation air conditioning in an elevator. give Donald Trump a chance to at least put this country back on track.

    • Dave

On what planet do you live?…it’s not even my country and I know he banned 7 countries, even US citizens who were away or are away as we speak are not able to come back in USA.
Floridian dude was American, Belgium and Paris had citizenship of these countries, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Oh and you forgot the other dude who shot innocent people in Fort Lauderdale, American too…

  24. Tracy

This is a know fact President Trumps press secretary is an openly gay man with a husband the first person he appointed. pay attention to the real news he just signed legislation 2 days ago keeping us protected from discrimination. on the job. I didn’t vote for the man but i willing to except the fact that he is our President and give him a chance. Not once has the man ever said he was homophobic.

  25. James K.

This wasn’t penned by Trump. It’s almost exactly what Pence tried to pass in Indiana while he was Governor here. This is more likely than not being backed by Pence, and hopefully because of the reaction of businesses and other organizations when it was passed here, Trump will pass it by. This would be counterproductive to keeping jobs in America. I am not a Trump supporter, but we need to stand behind our president as good American citizens. If we don’t support him, why should he show any support for us?

  26. Cole

More “fake news” from the crying left trying to discredit President Trump claiming he is against gays when he clearly is not..nor has he ever been.

    • Mikey

ARe you a bot or someone paid to try and drum up support for Trump?? I bet you are man! If your not with us!! You’re against us and you should be ashamed for pretending to be one of us! I”ve gone through too much crap in my life to go back to the way things were in the 80’s or 90’s or earlier. It’s sad people have forgotten stonewall etc. I have not forgotten. Nor will I ever forget!!

    • TiredOfIt

More “fake news?” YOU people are the ones who love the “fake news.” THIS is real….and was in the Wash Post, ABC, NBC, the works…you know, REAL news…not Breitbart, NOT Alex Jones’ InfoWorms, not some church nutter site…..REAL new. You’re probably a fake gay person off of Facebook. Dave, we need to close down Facebook access.

    • Carl

Well put. This is fake news to the max. SO many followers (on BOTH sides) it’s kind of scary. This is just more from the DNC to continue to divide us…just like Obama has done to great advantage for the last 8 yrs.

  27. Lou

Wow, I thought the community was more educated than what I am reading. Trump’s main focus has been to divide people, make them fight each other. While this is going on, little by little, he will be witling away at long fought for rights and freedoms. So we can’t buy a cake, who cares. But when we lose our job, lose our apartment, have services refused because it is now legal to do so again, we will then say “what the hell happened?” We all can have an opinion and let’s exchange those in a compassionate way and listen to each other. We do have a common goal to live in peace and prosperity for ourselves and others. Let’s continue to educate ourselves and keep a close watch as to what is happening around us. If we have to hit the streets and courts again, we will for the good of all.

  28. Mikey

What I’d really like to know is??? How is this helping to bring us all together? Cuz I”m not seeing nor am I feeling it. I say the gay mafia needs to step in spit in his food at the restaurants he eats at for starters. All I know is he’s messing with the wrong groups now. I’m going to go out into the streets and yell… “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!!” for starters. So much for less government intrusion. Where is the freedom I ask all of you?? Oh wait silly me!! It’s not freedom to persue the right to happiness is it? Nope! It’s the freedom to discriminate on those you don’t like. Is that really how he’s thinking he’s going to make America great again? LOL I hope we survive the interment camps they’ll be putting us in next for our re-conditioning and shock therapy for our mental illness as they will call it. This is pathetic and an abuse of power but someone who isn’t showing much respect to the American people he swore under oath he would protect. What a freakin’ loser!! What I see… is a bully who’s being petty like a child and now that he has power…. is going to punish all of those who he doesn’t like because that’s the mature non-high school thing to do right? Let’s pick on the gays etc. What a douche! Something stinks in America and it’s called the Presidency. Basically in the past days.. Trumpy has made a mockery of the presidency. What a sad day for America and Freedom. Freedom for the rich white religious fanatics it seems. As if generation X didn’t get the middle finger enough in our lives compared to what the baby boomers have gotten. This is freakin’ BS!! I hope the gay community is ready for a fight because this is going to get ugly and I fear that some people will die before this is over. 🙁 So I repeat. What a sad day for America. What has happened to our country? Or better yet. Maybe they’ll deport all us gays and revoke us our rights?? What’s to stop him if that’s why the religious right wants??

  29. tRIPp

I doN’T nUt like Donald J. t-RUMP, however this bill’s NOT his agenda, as I learned on the traditional broadcast networkS (“ABC,CBS,NBC”), WHOm’ve high integrity (UNlike how, sum o’ this has been written) & work painstakingly (2 the point o’ exhaustion) 4 many hours a day (w a full staff) 2b FACTual; any1 WHOm says otherwise, is ignoRANT o’ how the news operates & denying honest reality’s what the people did, n Nazi GerMANy.

  30. AV

It is amazing to me. It’s as if everyone has forgotten what it was like to be black in America 50+ years ago. (Or maybe you’re either too young or perhaps white so none of these issues touched your lives.) Everything you are talking about–the right to refuse services, the right to deny hotel rooms, the right to deny marriage licenses, etc.–all of these were common practices used against people of color in America, and many people used these same arguments to defend them then. Replace the word “gay” with “black” or “Jewish,” and it’s the same issues as days gone by. Separate but equal is not equality.

Perhaps you believe a restaurant should be allowed to refuse service to a black person or a Jewish person. If so, not much I can say would change your mind. And just as there are gays today who say “let’s slow down,” there were blacks who said the same thing. Personally, I am glad for the work of Martin Luther King Jr AND Malcolm X and others who pushed, prodded, protested and marched to win civil rights under the law. It’s not perfect, but things would not be better without those willing to disrupt the status quo.

I’m not going to stoop to calling this post “fake news” or “liberal bias.” Instead, I will take it for what it is: a canary in the coal mine, warning us to be aware for further possible danger ahead. I will keep my eyes open to see how the story develops.

  31. tiredoftierdofit

Dave that proves my point they were given citizenship/Asylum in Paris and Belgium and how did they thank the citizens of Belgium and Paris by murdering them.

  32. Will Ellet

Although I didn’t like the Republican (Bush) before Obama, I most certainly didn’t like how Obama has severely divided the American People. I had gotten fooled into voting for each of these two during each of their first running terms. Sickened by eight years of Bush, then another eight years “totally” wasted away by Obama (talk about being a divided racist); I got totally fed up at both ends. As to whether Trump will turnout to be another “huge” joke as our President, I can’t say. However, I’m willing to “respectfully” give him a “fair and reasonable time” to prove himself before I pass any positive or negative judgement(s) about him! I learned long ago “NEVER” to believe everything either our media OR the Far Leftist/Rightest websites &/or other sources report.

  33. Lemurian_Phoenix

Trump does not have an anti-LGBT order, just stop it. This and any the other utterly wrong propaganda has gone too far. Stop watching the news and open your eyes.

  34. Dangerferret

I’m alarmed by extremism on both sides of the aisle. I don’t want to see gays and transgendered people barred from gainful employment anymore than I want to see someone’s life ruined because she doesn’t want to do floral arrangements for a gay wedding. That said, the president doesn’t make law, he introduces it. Even executive orders have to pass constitutional muster if a reasonable challenge is mounted and SCOTUS agrees to hear the case.

One thing I’d like people to consider is that this nation isn’t supposed to have a king, whether that king has a D or an R after his or her name. Maybe what we all could start focusing on is reigning in the power of the executive branch, restoring checks and balances, and giving states and local communities more power over their own lives. Then we wouldn’t have to be scared of the possibilities of a Trump anti-LGBTQ campaign, real or imagined.

We’ve all given the government way too much power because we keep insisting the government be responsible for solving all our problems. I think we’re all better suited to run our own lives than anyone in Washington DC.

  35. Kyle

    My entire country hate Trump.

Thank god he isn’t my leader.

I don’t care if this article is real or fake, because actions speak louder than words. Trump’s main actions are to divide people.
Trump doesn’t need to say that he is against the gays becauae his actions are against everything we beilieve in.

  36. Genghis

what a load of garbage LMFAO. first there is NO MUSLIM BAN it is a travel and visa ban to certain countries that have terrorist training grounds. YES that is fact. Trump does not care about gay folks. Look people need to stop watching lying fake news from ABC and CNN and Huffington post. Oh Remember Orlando where the killings happened? Guess what, the parents of the killer cam from one of those countries and the killing could have been prevented if they were vetted correctly. People this is not a Liberal or conservative Rep or Dem thing. This is a common sense thing. Time to grow up and get rid of your emotions and get some logic.

  37. Jim

I’m truly amazed with the SJW warriors like your FYI statement is a joke.Define a facist statement. You sound like a little girl.I’m no but I do not support transgender in any way and I definitely don’t support forced acceptance of their delusion socially or by the government

  38. Maurice

Fake news babes…I’m a new yorker and our President has never shown being antivgay during the 70s & 80s. A leak from a source that wants to spread fear

  39. James

Prosperity and acceptance for gay people under Trump is over. I suggest we all sell our assets convert them to cash and get the hell out of here. We can feel more free in a country that shares our political beliefs. Anyone for Cuba or Venezuela ?

  40. Johnny Q

    Johnny Q

It’s amazing to me that people think debt can be reduce with no reduction if programs( this includes rights), the size of reduction of debt that needs to be made on our country is mind blowing…
like any CEO… some befits will be taken away… some slowly (small), some larger and more viable…It’s no shock that this would be done… the thing is if someones right is taken away… where does it stop… or who does it stop… I’m not in-agreement that anyone’s rights should be taken away…but the reduction of some rights and freedom doesn’t come as a surprise…

  41. Carl

KNOWING that extremist Muslims will KILL all gay people. Just like in Orlando, I’m GLAD someone is starting to do EXTREME VETTING! Trump is probably saving countless gay lives. Give him a break! What FOOLS would never lock their doors? Let ANYONE into their homes? IF it was a Muslim BAN……all Muslim countries would be on it, and they are not. JUST the really whacked ones where we can not do proper background checks. AND once the rules / policies for extreme vetting are in place, we will take refugees from these countries again. STOP making it into what it is not. GURLS GURLS…….get a handle !!!!

  42. Marko

Thanks for being so tolerant, diverse and inclusive of everyone else and their ideas. I once hear that the diversity is the acceptance, the understanding of all idea including those that you oppose with the understanding that no one single idea is more relevant than any other.
Given the choice of candidates in the election, it’s really hard to be critical of anyone else’s vote. While Trump is no prince, Hillary was no prize. I think I’ll refrain from making a public idiot out of myself until all of the facts are in, which is not clearly at this moment.
Dave, sadly your becoming what it is you detest the most.
I’ll be surprised if you have thick enough skin to let 90% of contrary opinion remain on public view.

    • Dave

I post every comments that oppose to mine. I’m not 12 years old. But all what Trump supporters do here is swear and call others stupid and idiots, so I have to edit or delete their comments. I don’t know if it’s the lack of education, how you were raised, I dont know…

I don’t care about Hillary, where did you see Hillary in this post? It’s not a contest of “who won” or “who is the best”, you guys sound like me when I was 4 years old saying “my dad is stronger than yours” lol. It’s about humanity, that’s all. If you can’t understand that, sorry.

      • Marko

Thanks for taking the high road and telling me on par with a four old child. I’ll refrain from pointing out the obvious with your current state of mind.

  43. Geos

Muslims are by FAR our greatest enemies. Liberal lemming gays will bleat endlessly about Christians baking a fucking cake and give a free pass to muslims that preach genocide to gays and Jews and are committing the greatest gay genocide since the Nazis. Gays bleating about “islamophobia” are like Jews complaining about “Naziphobia”.

    • Dave

But why do you generalize an entire part of the world for what a small group did? (isis)
I dont get it?! Are you a crazy stupid mass murderer? Oh because the dude that killed people in Fort Lauderdale is American, so I thought all Americans were like that…

      • Marko

It’s not a small group Dave, the entire religion teaches hatred, bigotry and intolerance. If your too stupid to accept that anyone who can justify mass murder in the name of God is good for your freedoms and longevity then your a bigger fool than I already suspect. But that will only come to the surface once the honeymoon of their acceptance and domination occurs. Islam is a all-consuming cancer masquerading as a religion and by far the greatest threat to mankind, all of mankind. And if for one second you think the bible banging narrow-minded right with Trump is scary, wait until the Muslim’s take charge. You’ll be stoned to death or beheaded while crying for your rights.

        • Dave

Marko, I have Muslim friends, and you clearly don’t have a clue what you are talking about. I hope you can read and learn about these wonderful people. If you’re talking about Isis who claim to be Muslim, even Muslim people reject them and hate them… ISIS is the problem, not Muslim people, but clearly you didn’t know that like most people who claim to have opinions but have no clue what they’re talking about.

  44. Grant

Thanks for this post, Dave. So on yet another issue Trump will say one thing during the campaign, then do the opposite (no doubt with another big splashy event/signing ceremony for the cameras) once in office. And anyone who has read about Mike Pence’s record can tell his fingerprints are all over this drafted executive order… Remember, he was chosen by Trump as VP only because of his rock-solid credentials with the Christian Right Wingnuts. He’d be thrilled if Trump would sign an executive order to accomplish nationally what his stupid “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” couldn’t do in Indiana.
BTW, does anyone remember the barrage of tweets that Trump issued back in the day, criticizing President Obama for issuing so many executive orders, being an “imperial president”? Now Trump is cranking out the signing events at a breakneck pace, usually without consulting the specific government departments involved, and without even clearing the language of his “orders”/”memoranda” with the White House’s legal team.

  45. Shannon Blalock

I’ll start with Trump and his promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Anyone with a third of a brain knew that was a lie. As politicians do,tell ppl what they want to hear until they are in power. Personally, I do not think it will pass. He screwed up flight ban of Muslims. There will be another Supreme Court judge to knock it down. The matter of abortions. I’m rather bothered by that because if you tell the woman of today what she can do with her body, there’s never a good ending. They could very well cause women to do back alley abortions. That would be catastrophic. The religious freedom act. That’s fine, but as I was taught, you don’t push your religion down others throats. If you don’t like something don’t The Lords name as a way to justify your stupidity. Man cannot and has no right to judge another man. Only one has that right and power. Don’t mean to get all religious on anyone. I always said, if I’m going to hell for something, let me go. It’s not on you. All in all, Trump is making himself look like the last fool, and it’s so funny because some Democrates and Republicans continued to say, give him a chance. They are giving him a chance, a chance to be a bafoone. And he’s sprinting his away with it.

  46. Rick

I don’t think Trump care’s for the LGBT and it seem’s as if those of us that do care have been being put down in many way’s. Well just know I’ve been around long enuff to know when and how to buck the grain. I will look back and let be known faults of those who seek to harm those I hold dear and love. Read close the second amendment for all those whom love to judge people from just what is known on computers. People are and have spiritual rights that websites, corporations, do not have and what they do have must come from the government. So seem to act as if they even Surpass that authority.
