Entertainment: Lady Gaga To Appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race!

Hot on the heels of a Super Bowl performance that wowed both fans and critics alike, Lady Gaga made the revelation earlier today that she would make an appearance on Logo’s hit reality show, RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In a tweet, the pop star said, “The time has come! I’m joining the girls on the season premiere of @RuPaulsDragRace! #DontBeADrag #JustBeAQueen” Attached to the tweet is a 14-second video showing Lady Gaga uttering one of the show’s many catchphrases: “And may the best woman win!” Watch the short video below:

The appearance – which will have Lady Gaga act as a guest judge – was actually something Lady Gaga had suggested back in 2013, right before the start of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6. In the tweet, Lady Gaga pleaded “Can I PLEASE be a judge on drag race! @RuPaul I started out in these club, these women taught me how to serve!”

This will be the second time that Lady Gaga and RuPaul will work together, as the legendary drag queen was a guest performer in the Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular, where the pair performed the song “Fashion!”

In a press release, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 promises to “unveil a court of cut-throat Queens each competing to snatch the crown and strut away with a $100,000 cash prize and the coveted title of ‘America’s Next Drag Superstar.'” Competing this season are Aja (Brooklyn, NY), Alexis Michelle (New York, NY), Charlie Hides (London, UK), Eureka O’Hara (Johnson City, TN), Farrah Moan (Las Vegas, Nevada), Jaymes Mansfield (Madison, Wisconsin), Kimora Blac (Las Vegas, Nevada), Nina Bo’nina Brown (Atlanta, Georgia), Peppermint (New York, New York), Sasha Velour (Brooklyn, New York), Shea Coulee (Chicago, IL), Trinity Taylor (Orlando, FL) and Valentina (Los Angeles, CA).
