The long-awaited kiss of X-Men’s Iceman aka Bobby Drake and his beau Romeo finally happened at Marvel Comics’ latest issue titled All-New X-Men (2015- ) #17 Inhumans VS. X-Men Tie-In!

Fans are ecstatic. It’s been over a year since Iceman’s coming out and his fans had been looking forward to his first gay kiss ever since.

It can be recalled that Iceman was outed in April 2015’s All-New X-Men #40 issue during his confrontation with Jean Grey. He had since then gone to a gay bar (All-New X-Men #13), met Romeo, exchanged numbers with him, AND went to several dates with him. Iceman sure doesn’t waste time now that he had found his love.

Speculations, however, are flying left, right, and center. That Iceman’s first love will not end well. First, there’s the guy’s name Romeo which we all know is straight out of Romeo and Juliet—Shakespeare’s world famous tragedy—and everybody is aware about the tragic demise of the couple in the story. Incidentally, in All-New X-Men, the X-MEN are at war with the Inhumans and Romeo just happened to be an Inhuman making this new couple an unwilling party of the ongoing war. The parallelism is, of course, not lost to the fans.
