Celebrities : Ellen Wins 20th People’s Choice Awards

Ellen DeGeneres was hailed People’s Choice Awards’ most decorated celebrity in its recently concluded 43rd edition held last night in Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Ellen took home the trophies for the Favorite Animated Movie Voice for Finding Dory, Favorite Daytime TV Host, and Favorite Comedic Collaboration. The three awards were in addition to the 17 previous ones she garnered over the years rounding her total win to 20 and breaking the record for most number of People’s Choice Awards ever won in its 43-year history. Incidentally, Finding Dory also obtained both the Favorite Movie and Favorite Family Movie awards.

The comedic collaboration award she bagged was for her segment with Britney Spears titled Mall Mischief. Watch it below.

She later thanked her fans through twitter saying, “The reason I get to do what I do is because you watch it, like it, vote for it, and retweet it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Last year, Ellen also made headlines when she won the Presidential Medal of Freedom. It is said to be the highest civilian award of the United States given by the President to honor individuals for their significant contributions to culture, world peace, security and national interests, and other remarkable public or private endeavors.
