Music : “Sam Smith Diva Boy” To Be Released

Everybody now knows Sam Smith as the Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter that got into a short Twitter spat with Academy Award-winning scriptwriter Dustin Lance Black, but just like everybody else, Smith started out as just a young man with a dream.

And now, everyone who’s either loved or hated the crooner gets to see what Smiths’ efforts as a 16-year-old were like as independent label Flipbook Music releases Sam Smith Diva Boy this month. The album, which was recorded back in 2008, was made before the out singer made it big with In The Lonely Hour.

How Smith feels about the release of this early material is yet to be seen, but hopefully it isn’t as bad as his experience at the Academy Awards was. Smith has been on record saying that his performance of “Writing’s On The Wall” was the moment of his life and that he “hated every minute.” Besides that, he erroneously thought that he was the first gay person to win an Academy Award, and also got into a short Twitter spat with Tom Daley’s fiancé, Dustin Lance Black, wherein Black admonished him to “stop texting” his fiancé.

If you’d like to see the music video cobbled together by Flipbook Music for the single, “Momentarily Mine”, you can watch it here!
