Music : Britney’s New Song

Britney Spears just released her new song, a pop ballad called “Make Me…” featuring G-Eazy. After months of delays and video leak, the mother of two is now delivering her latest creation. “Make Me…” produced by Burns and co-written by Joe Janiak is the lead single from Britney’s ninth studio album and is out today (July 15). It aligns perfectly with the pop sound du jour, a touch moody with a drop of R&B.

Three years after the release of her not so critically acclaimed Britney Jean, the kick-off for Album Nine is on the way. Whether you like Britney or not, she is already #1 on iTunes charts, pushing Justin Timberlake to #2.

I have to admit, I really don’t like the song. I miss the “old” Britney sound. I feel that what she does now sounds very cheap. In french we say “ça sonne cacanne” meaning it sounds like a can, sounds bad, low budget. But hey, that’s only my opinion.

What about you? Like it or not? Listen to it below!

I went in cautiously but I actually like it alot & was nervous about the generic white rapper but was surprised in a good way! I like it and think it’s a good song.

Britney was relevant in 2003, it’s 2016 she’s no longer. She used to dance now she just wiggles her shoulders and people pay to see that and her lip sync, just like a drag queen.

agree with joey about the dancing but i’d say she was relevant up through 2010
gimme more was the fucking bomb and womanizer and circus were really good

Take away the production effects and-surprise!-she’s still the exact same mediocre voice cooing like a bad preteenage catwoman under the mistaken impression that she sounds sexy and emotive. Lacking even the minor catchiness of “Baby One More Time” the song is completely uninteresting melodically, structurally, and lyrically, culminating in-more surprise!-a rap break: possibly the most overused tired cliché of the past 20 years of pop music. No doubt she’ll be doing the exact same thing when she’s fifty years old, still raking in millions from a career that should have seen it’s logical conclusion at the point several years back when she self-destructed and showed herself incapable of handling the level of unearned success and fame that fate for some unknown reason laid in her lap.

Britney is the youngest female ever to have six no 1 albums under her belt (ALBUMS NOT SINGLES, 7 soon to come) and is tied at six with Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson & currently gets paid 200,000 for 90 min of her lip syncing arm movements…. No drag queen you will ever know will ever make that $$ (except maybe lady perry, or was it katy gaga?? the icons always have the ‘why?’s that come after)….After 2000 and up until this day the only solo female artists that matter are Britney, Beyonce & Rihanna… Adele is great but hmu in 3 albums 😉

you are obviously a Britney fan. But I don’t personally calculate “good” with “how much money they make”. Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and many others, are all very rich… if you know what I mean.

I actually liked it. I can’t stand her old music. This is coming from a guy that listens to metal and rock music. I found it relaxing and more real than what she typically did in the past. But now everyone likes Selena Gomez, Beyonce andTaylor Swift, yes they can sing, but they’re fake and just as manufactured as Britney. But they can say the same for Madonna. I think she’s finally finding her ‘voice’, and it’s refreshing. I just think there’s better artist that rarely get any credit like Kesha and LORDE. They can actually sing and write, but yea. People put them down and ridicule them without actually listening and having any knowledge of their music. Do not get me started on Beyonce lmao. End of rant lol.
