A4A : Our New Blog Is Up!
After few months of back and fourth, designing, adding categories, removing useless things, changing colours and more, our new blog is finally up and live! It is definitely more modern than the previous one and it also has new functions. For example, in the new blog, you’ll be able to answer on someone’s comment with DISQUS, so your reply will be right under someone’s comment.
There is also a direct link to Login/Signup on Adam4Adam on the top right corner. There’s even a direct access to our social media at all time with a Facebook and Instagram feed directly in the right hand side of the blog. When A4A will have a special announcement, or an important post, we’ll be able to “glue” a post in the middle section called “Featured Posts” to make sure that you guys can see and read it even if you visit the blog 3-4 days after the original post was published. There is also a direct access to our Sex Shop, Live Cam sites and Porn on the top left of the blog. We also added new categories like “Marriage”, “Equality”, “Racism”, “Family”, “STDs”, “Homophobia”, “Gay Rights” and “Promo”.
Finally, the blog is simply visually more modern and up to date, our previous blog was a bit “2009” and we needed a change!
Let me know if you like and if you see some problems, make sure to let us know in the comment section below. It’s the first day so maybe there will be few little problems here and there!
Have a great day everyone and make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
There was nothing wrong with your “2009” look, especially since it conveyed more content and less useless “white space.” Adding Disqus is hardly an improvement, given that they participate in widespread censorship for anything they deem politically incorrect and block one’s posts. However, at least your new design seems to have maintained the usage of English words for links rather than idiotic icons one is supposed to try to decipher!
any other positive comments? Thanks Jim!
The old blog layout was WAYYYYYY BETTER. this new one is too crowded/ cluttered. To me, this was a big MISS. Horrible!
Sorry Derrick, you seem to be the only one who dislike it. We saw the traffic go up significantly. It is better for commenting, better for social media and also brighter and more modern. You’ll get use to it, I’m sure!
Dave
Its sooo white…. lol.
But the new look is pretty good. Loving it….
Thanks Nathan!
Yeah our new desktop and mobile adam4adam.com site will be more white as well. It’s our new image. White + black and orange details. Wait to see the app. OMG! U will freak out:)
Soooo white is good you’re able to see it !
Yeah do you like it?
The models you’ve hired for the Blog do not depict the average A4A Member. The models in your ads are gorgeous don’t get me wrong but they’re misleading. A new member signing up will think that the guys on A4A all look like that when in actuality very few of them do.
Well, there’s guys from all spectrum on A4A. We didn’t hire them, it’s a photo provided by our friend at Sean Cody
Great! Then you can let them know they can feel free to provide pictures of guys without limiting themselves to young and white (ok, white-ish. the line between white and black is somewhat tan) ones.
Under Equality might you consider adding Global LGBT Rights, given your international reach. It is an issue that those in the US need to become more aware of and those in other countries need a way to address these issues.
Eric, “Gay Rights” is already under “Equality”, did you check properly?
This makes me inspired to do a makeover of myself — I’m going to become hetero! No, just kidding. Thanks to everyone who worked on the new format. Change is good..
Looking good. The menu could scroll a bit easier on the iPhone. Appreciate the update and the top of page shortcut. Look forward to the changes coming to other a4a sites.
Thanks J. What do you mean by “the menu could scroll a bit easier” ? like softer ?
The type is a little light… more gray instead of black so not as easy to read, but like the bigger space so overall good re-do!
It’s not so much the design, it’s the content of the blog, and I’ve always loved it. If you guys are looking/hiring a blogger I would love to jump on that opportunity.
Ando, we always like new bloggers, feel free to contact me at blog at adam4adam.com.
Whatever you have done has made my mobile connection ceace continuously. It sucks. Should I just drop this site???
I have no idea what you are talking about, we changed the design of our BLOG, nothing to do with the site adam4adam.com. You should contact your internet provider.
I mainly like the comment section, because you can directly respond to people’s comments. I’m pretty sure the gay troll’s will love it too. 😉 However I wish it would let me edit my comments after posting. 🙂
The responses so far are typical when a site makes changes. Change can be thought of as good or bad.
My feedback after navigating around using my PC is:
– The extensive white is overpowering. Shading would help.
– The font could be larger so the text is easier to read.
– There are too many categories. It takes much longer to navigate around see which topics and responses are new.
Overall, while it looks more modern, the changes make it more difficult for users to access posts. Fixes are easy: shade the background, make the font larger and combine some of the category tabs and subcategories.
I’ll give it a look on my phone.
Hunter, the categories will stay like this for now. We added and remove some, I even think there are less than previous blog. I will check to have the text darker though.
For sure navigation is an issue. Getting back to this post to say that was a journey … and only possible because I knew which tab it was under and which subcategory it was in. Is there a shorter way I’m missing?
No, it’s mobile…so yes it’s smaller than desktop version.
On my Droid Max navigation is much more problematic. The topic tabs should display immediately. Navigation is hunt and peck.
Definitely don’t like the new format. Harder to navigate, less access, more clutter. As Men on films would say, “Hated it!”
sorry that you don’t like it!
