A4A : Dave is Back + A4A News

Hey guys, I hope you had a great weekend and beginning of week, I am finally back after a bit more than 2 weeks off in Spain and Greece. My trip was amazing, I had a lot of fun and also many long days lying by the ocean and doing nothing except eating, swimming and tanning. My skin is super dark even though I use solar cream all day long, I don’t even look white anymore, I look arabic/indian mix! Some Greek were talking to me in Greek thinking I was one of theirs, that was funny…

Now I’m back at work with lots of energy as we have many things coming up very shortly. Do you remember that few weeks ago I told you about a new design for the blog, well it is almost ready, I didn’t like the previous design that our team did last month, but this one will be fantastic, very modern and cool, you will be able to reply to comments submitted by other users and also new categories will be added like “Marriage”, “Equality”, “Homophobia” and more.

We are also redesigning the look of the website and mobile website, to make it more modern and 2016 looking, this should be ready in August. New features will also be added like “get verified” and also we revised the profile section with more appropriate description for sexual habits since PrEP is in the game now, also more detailed sexual preferences and we added sexual orientation as well. We will also have a “Health” section so that you can know easily where to get tested for STDs and the information that goes with it. The blog will be featured on the left side of the website so it will be visible on all pages under the left hand-side menu.

The apps (both iOS and Android) will also be fully redesigned and ready by August as well. Get ready for MANY new features and things you’ve never seen on gay apps so far. I’ve directed the redesign with our design team, and the only thing I can say is that it will be FANTASTIC. Not only it will be beautiful and user friendly, but it will also have tons of new features including of course photo/video sending, “send location”, “get verified” and more. You will also be able to login or signup with Facebook for a faster connection and upload photos from Facebook and Instagram as well. There will also be many other features, but I rather not talk about it yet as our competitors will probably copy us. A4A is the original after all since 2003 and still there stronger than ever! The app will also be translated in other language to make sure more guys around the world can use it.

Ok I’ve said enough, but I’ll keep you posted later at the end of the summer when everything will be ready!

Have a great week guys!

Dave

This all sounds good, but I have been asking how I can turn on my location? I’m really getting no good answers. When I hit the button near me, it tells me I have to accept my browser for my location. My browser and location are already set to on. Does anybody have any ideas? Or is it just Adam4Adam? Maybe I have to delete my profile and start again? Thanks guys

I have had the exact same problem as “Deerhunter” for over two months, and the technical team has NOT solved the issue, and has been VERY slow to communicate / respond to my email notes and follow-ups. This is very frustrating, because for many members, this is a KEY feature of the website. Any help?

Same problem for that location issue. The message pops up saying I need to enable browser and its only for this site.

I’m having the same issue with location sharing using Chrome. Looks like Google made a change and A4A needs to setup a secure/https site.

“Starting with Chrome 50, Chrome no longer supports obtaining the user’s location using the HTML5 Geolocation API from pages delivered by non-secure connections. This means that the page that’s making the Geolocation API call must be served from a secure context such as HTTPS.”

Really like the idea of a “verified profile” feature. Way too many fake profiles and guys who look nothing like their pics.

    Hey Dave,
This is my first time seeing you. You’re a very attractive, sexy dude. I see why you would have sex with yourself if you met someone like you. Lol Glad you enjoyed your trip.

I’ve tried getting answers how to delete previous searches on the member search spot, nobody seemed to know how to do it. Hopefully with the next new roll out, somebody will have answers to basic question for the site.

For those of you who are experiencing the location issue, this is because of an update to Google Chrome. If you switch to Firefox, the location works fine. For some reason A4A site does not recognize in chrome, the location is turned on. So try Firefox. I had the same issue, switched to Firefox it works fine.

Guys, I spoke with our dev team and it should be fixed next week. They just need to migrate the site… Should be ok soon! Sorry for that!

    Blog / Dave–Two things:

1–THANK YOU for investigating / communicating about the “near me” feature and Chrome. I’ve been waiting on an answer / solution since early May, and because of your kind efforts, I finally have some clear communication. [I really think the “tech team” should have put out a notice to members of this glitch; if it’s as wide-spread as it sounds, many many members have had the problem, and by sending out communication from a4a, the “tech team” could have helped themselves and decreased the number of members who reported a problem (and thought they were isolated incidents)]. THANKS again!!

2–While I’ve got your attention, I’m having a second technical issue ….. In March, I lost all the “last visits” I had on my account; they were all washed away. I am a VIP member, and I think I’ve always had the last 100 guys displayed who have looked at my profile. But now, I only get the last 12-15 “last visits” displayed (the number varies; mobile vs. laptop version). I’m getting no help / resolution from the “tech team”; just very slow responses to be patient (since March!). Can you tell me what’s happening / solution? Thank you.

Smith: our support team told me that you have over 80 last visits…
There was probably a glitch one time but it works fine now. There’s nothing we can do to retrieve the old visits. sorry

Blog / Dave–Thank you for the reply. I think there’s some confusion … I understand that I can’t see the past / old “last visits” listing; I understand they are old and they’re gone; not a problem. However, the problem of me only seeing a smaller number of “last visitors” than I’m supposed to see as a VIP member still persists (from March until present). Today, when I am on my laptop, I can only see the last 15 guys who “visited” my profile; on my smartphone I only see the last 12 guys who “visited” my profile. Prior to March, I could see the last 100 guys who “visited” my profile (on laptop AND smartphone), as a VIP member; then suddenly one day in March, it changed. I’m not sure what the “tech team” is telling you about 80 “last visits” (I’m only seeing 15 or 12 “last visitors”). Please tell me if I’m wrong that – as a VIP member – I’m supposed to see the last 100 “visits”. Otherwise, any solution to my on-going problem on this issue? Thank you again; I’ll wait to hear back.
