Travel : Discovering Barcelona
Hey guys, I’m still in Barcelona until tomorrow, I’ve seen beautiful things so far. I always liked the European architecture and Barcelona has some gorgeous neighbourhoods. My favorite is the Gothic Quarter, the streets are super narrow and packed with small restaurants, cafés, shops, churches and old Gothic buildings, very impressive.
Yesterday I went to the Sagrada Familia, a temple started by Gaudi many years ago, still being constructed following Gaudi’s rules and plans that he left before he died. Definitely impressive. I took the ticket to see the towers and this is very nice as well. You get to see Barcelona from up above, and it’s pretty scary (especially if you’re scared of heights like me). I’m not religious at all, but it felt amazing to be inside one of the most visited churches in the world. Check out below for few pictures of my visit.
Tomorrow is Mykonos, I’ll be relaxing and going to the beach and eat good food. I was not impressed so much by Barcelona’s food and service and I know that Mykonos’ food is exquisite so I can’t wait for it.
I’ll talk to you later guys and if you have any restaurant advice for Mykonos, or things to see etc, let me know.
Dave
Great shots of La Sagrada Familia, especially the stained glass window. It’s modern Gothic and Gaudi was so much ahead of his time, especially when you consider that this basilica began construction in 1885. It really is amazing.
Have a great time, Dave — you deserve it! I love Barcelona — enjoyed the architecture, the food, the hot Spanish men. I loved the beach at Sitges (a young cute Spaniard had a big hardon in his swimsuit, which was nice!). Greece was so beautiful — loved the island of Crete — and enjoyed the BEST rice pudding I’ve ever had in my life in Athens. And, of course, the Greek men are hot.
Why have you not gone to the gay resort of Sitges? The beach is very “hot” this time of year…woof!
very nice, never to Spain, been to the ones in United Kingdom and France , they’re all amazing to see, take care!
Hi Dave. I hope you got to check out Hotel Axel. They have a fabulous rooftop bar!!
I was in Barcelona 2 years ago, I loved it. Nice people, gorgeous men and loved the ancient buildings. I also noticed how more liberated they are hanging around with just their speedos. It was the port of call for that stupid gay cruise I went on, was off to Italy after that.
Food is excellent in barcelona. You just went to prob some crappy cheap restaurants. Thats a fact. And europes service is always slow. Noone in n a rush like here. So drop the american attitude and just go to mc donalds and that will suit you to a t….lol
Greece is awesome ppl and food. How you can handle that……
Was in Mykonos starting on the 26th as well. Always an amazing time going to Jackie O’s and eating at Bakalo, Fato a Mano and others.
