Music : Celine Dion Received Icon Award At BBMA
If you were traveling to another planet last night, you might not know that Celine Dion won the most prestigious award of the night at the Billboard Music Awards, The Icon Award, honouring her for her amazing career that now spreads over 3 decades. With over 200 million albums sold worldwide and a permanent show in Vegas for over 10 years, Celine is still one of the most lucrative and popular singers on the planet. Being from Montreal myself, she is definitely my favorite since I’m a kid. Celine started her career at 12 years old in Montreal, and we all watch her grow to this Diva that she is now today.
At the BBMA, Celine also sang “Show Must Go On” from Freddie Mercury, another icon, a dramatic powerful rock ballad in which the singer makes reference to her belated husband. Everything was perfect about her performance. I watched it 5 times in a row. The dress, the voice, the orchestra, the acceptance speech and the emotion. You can see the performance below.
Celine also released today the first single from her upcoming french album “Encore Un Soir” written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, another beautiful and very emotional song that talks about love. You can listen to it below as well.

giz: she doesn’t need to get naked to get hits. Her new french song came out yesterday and is #1 everywhere in Europe FYI! Check Forbes list of top female singer, you’ll see her in the top. Her fortune is estimated to more than 600 million dollars. Try that! 🙂
Oh, her Vegas show is soldout every night for over 10 years too!
sad that young gays thing Britt Spears is iconic….Celine is the epitome of raw talent, class, n beauty.
I think she’s good but frankly, I don’t like her. I lost interest in her when she canceled her tour with George Michael because he got caught in a bathroom and she thought it was distasteful. Well, maybe it was but then, she was far more judgmental at a time when George could have used the support.

Thanks Dave, That was an amazing performance. The average person has no idea how hard people are working when they perform and this is on top of the talent they have. Wow, I want to see more of her performances.
Yes, it was many years ago. I remember thinking that she was not the kind of person that I could admire.

I love Celine!! Shes an amazing singer, Dave ur right, a true singer/artist, doesn’t need to get naked, or cause controversy to get noticed. In this case Celine’s vocal cords n singing range is ALL she needs. So sad that now a days an artist must be almost naked, or literately stand on their heads to be relevant n compete for attention.
