Photography : "High Line Nudes", a New Coffee Table Book
Ten Avenues Press, in association with Friends of the High Line, announce the publication of High Line Nudes. In 2006, photographer Kevin McDermott took three of his friends up on the abandoned railroad tracks that would become New York City’s High Line park to shoot a series of nudes. As McDermott states in his introduction, “at the time I took these photos, what I sought from its beauty was its sense of isolation, being alone, surrounded by nature in the middle of this metropolis.”
A decade later, this location is now one of the most visited tourist destinations in NYC and one of the largest real estate developments in the world. High Line Nudes captures a seemingly impossible, but beautiful moment in the history of the West Side Rail Yards, Chelsea and an ever changing New York City.
I’m very proud of my friend Kevin, he has an extraordinary talent. I think it’s important to encourage artists that we love. Whether they’re musicians, photographers, dancers or singers, we definitely need them to keep our world more beautiful!

Alvin : $40, Confucius says, it’s fucking cheap for a book of this quality! The collector version is expensive yes, but the regular one very affordable!
I just ordered a copy. What is expensive?, a world with no artists, models to describe an artists vision, persons with no joy in life to support all of the above. Im sure Warhol was hearing all kinds of bullshit about “SOUP CANS” while creating at his loft.

A quick look into their lives and reporting on them from time to time would be much more interesting than the parade here of nameless pretty, white, young guys. Hey fine, keep some reporting on the pretty, white, young guys … but add some variety.
Gay guys come in all sizes, shapes, ethnicities, races, political positions, ages, etc. If we did a count, would pretty, white, young guys show up as the majority? Doubtful. How about some simple catering to the wider audience?
I love this photo collection! Well worth the money.
