Music : René Angelil, Celine Dion’s Husband, Died.

René Angélil, husband of french Canadian superstar Céline Dion, has died, on Thursday.

“Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer,” the rep said in a statement. “The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment.”

Angélil guided Dion’s career as her manager and mentor, is survived by the couple’s three children – René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy – and his adult children from a previous relationship, Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.

“Mr. Angelil, 73, died of throat cancer at his home in Henderson while under the care of a physician,” the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner said.

“We have asked [doctors] many times, how long does he have, three weeks, three months? René wants to know,” Dion said in an interview with USA TODAY last August. “But they say they don’t know.”

The singer added that she promised to keep Angélil’s dying wish: “I’ll say, ‘You’re scared? I understand. Talk to me about it’ … And René says to me, ‘I want to die in your arms.’ Okay, fine, I’ll be there, you’ll die in my arms.”

RIP René and all our thoughts are with Céline and the kids!

Biggest rule in nature: “all things that live must die”. I personally believe 2015 was a suck ass year, but 2016 is starting out with a lot of death.
Life is a precious gift. Let’s let this recent rash of cancer deaths remind us all just how fragile life can be.
Our most precious asset is our time. It’s the one thing we can’t gain. We can’t make it, buy it or build it. So let’s try to use it wisely. We’re losing it daily, some faster then others.
RIP in Rene. Thanks for investing your time into someone else in order that we could share her music. Your efforts have made the planet a better place after you left then it was when you found it.
    Thanks.

I was very saddened to hear of the news of your husband passing I knew for some time he was fighting cancer for a long time. You are on my prayer list and I know how it feels to lose someone you really loved. It tends to stun the mind and numb our hearts my prayer is as you move forward that God will direct you and takes some time to heal and listen to your inner voice from God. I want you to know you are not alone I am one that is praying for you and your family. I’ve included my email if you like to respond back. respectfully Jeffrey L. Corley

Love has no boundaries or limits. They refused to let anyone or anything dictate the terms of their happiness. Lots of lessons to be wittnessed here. Peace!

Celine’s devotion to Rene was very moving during his years of illness. A star of her magnitude could have easily found a younger lover. Says that love can be real and enduring despite a significant age difference. Something we all could learn.

Celine seems like she was quite devoted to and loved her husband Rene very much. My sympathies go to her and all of his children and other family members and friends who mourn him.

My favorite singer of all time. I love this woman. Feel so bad for her. And now her bother is about to die from cancer in the next few days. I’m just hoping she gets a new, Young man like J-Lo and Madonna have.
