News : Vladimir Putin Called Elton John To Discuss LGBT Rights

Elton John was visiting Ukraine last week and met with President Petro Poroshenko and discussed protections and expanded rights for the Eastern European nation’s LGBT population. While in Ukraine, John told the BBC that he wanted to meet with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to discuss similar topic. While admitting that it was a “pie in the sky” kind of hope, the message apparently reached the Kremlin, prompting Putin to give the British singer a call.
Yesterday, Elton posted the following photo on his Instagram account:
Let’s keep in mind that the Russian president also recently awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor to the lawmaker responsibile for the controversial anti-gay propaganda bill, so let’s see what will happen next!

Earlier today, a Russian prank caller has said he and a colleague tricked Sir Elton John into thinking President Vladimir Putin had called him to discuss gay rights. So this is not a true story, Elton John was pranked.

This was apparently a hoax. The Putin administration stated that nobody, especially Vladimir Putin has contacted Elton John. Elton was pranked and didn’t even realize it so he irresponsibly reported it on social media.

If Putin did call him to have an honest discussion about LGBT issues, Elton should have kept the conversation between them as MEN. Knowing that you’re having a rare conversation with a foreign dignitary that’s resistant to western influence, and knowing how touchy gay issues are to Russians, spreading the word about it on social media was not the right thing to do. Not everything has to be shared with the entire world, this only perpetuates the stereotype of gays beings gossips. Sometimes conversations between men should stay between those men.
My options is : Everyone known Rusian are anti gay. Putin invite Elton cum over to puppet show and justify his didn’t anti gay make Russia look good . That’s how they always covered up the lie. That’s why Madonna doesn’t tour in Russia at this time . I think Madonna do a right thing .. Elton is foolish blind

What awful responses. If it was a hoax, it was really stupid. Elton did nothing wrong. But if Putin had talked to him, of course he would deny it, so I think it did happen. But no one knows for certain.
