Health : Protect Your Penis!

Cock75

Protecting your penis is important, he is your best friend after all! These tricks below will help to keep testosterone level healthy, ensure your erections continue to run on full and will also protect you spermatozoids, if ever you want to have kids :

-Eggs

Start your day with an egg to end it on a high. Eggs’ B vits are essential for sex drive and erectile strength but stress can deplete your levels, says Dr Paul Lachance. Scramble before you hit the office.

-Not just Soy!

Soy milk isn’t better than cow juice, despite what the hipsters say. A Harvard study found the sperm counts of men using soy were 41m/ml lower than normal. That’s a lot of little yous to lose over your cereal.

-Glass vs Plastic

Throw out your Tupperware. A Reproductive Toxicology study found exposure to BPA in plastic can cut your sperm concentration by 23%. Nuke lunches in glassware.

-Pee before gym

Take a pitstop before you hit the squat rack. Peeing before you push stops urine being forced into your testicles, which the Uro Center of New York says causes epididymitis with painful swelling. Not the kind of growth you were after.

-Dynamic duo

While 99.9% of penis-related pills are a con, a Fertility and Sterility study found the testicular tag team of zinc and folate improves your percentage of healthy sperm – no scam.

-Choose blue

Attack the cheese board after dinner. Research in the Journal of Applied Physiology says the fats in roquefort can boost your testosterone levels and sex drive.

-Trade your pasta for broco if you’re Diabetic

Diabetes can leave you numb between the legs: Diabetes Voice says up to 58% of male sufferers are impotent. Keep your sugar levels in check by swapping starchy carbs for broccoli and spinach.

-Slow down on booze

Think twice when offered another pint down the pub. One study found 10 beers in one night can lower T-levels by 23% and leave you limp under the sheets long after the hangover clears.

-Wi-Fry zone

Late night laptop use can kill more than your sleep cycle. Human Reproduction found it raises scrotal temperatures by 2.5°C, which can zap your fertility. Log off at work; there are better things to do in bed.

-Scrub it up!

Shower time is serious for uncircumcised men. The American Cancer Society says smegma (sorry, official terminology) under the foreskin increases your risk of penile cancer. Scrub it up.

-Eat your carrot

Supermarket shelves are your pharmacy when it comes to preventing testicular cancer. The beta-carotene in carrots has incredible anticancer effects. Its efficacy in carrot cake is yet unconfirmed.

-Quit the smoke

Forget the gruesome adverts, this fact is sure to scare you off cigarettes. Researchers at Boston Uni found blood vessel damage makes smokers’ erections significantly shorter.

Should be required reading for all guys. Just in time for the holidays. Thanks for contributing to our knowledge base on health as well as other topics.

Most of these tips have less to do with penile health than overall health. Meanwhile, I keep running into guys with really red dicks. Not sure if it’s yeast, MRSA, or some other kind of skin infection or std. Some guy gave me head a couple of weeks ago and now my dick skin is red and super sensitive even though I washed it thoroughly right after the encounter. I’ve been putting anti-fungal cream, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Any advice/ideas?

I’d like to share something else with you that has happened to me. About 3-years ago I began to experience some pain in my penis. It was not continuous just every now and then. I dismissed it for about 6-months to 1-year. Rather embarrassing going to the doctor and telling him your dick hurts. Anyway, I finally got the nerve to mention it to him. He first asked me “are you jacking off a great deal”. I told him I was not just occasionally. He placed me on some strong antibiotics for 1-month. I went back to see him because there was limited improvement. He further examined me and came to the conclusion I had Peyronie’s Disease. He told me that sometime in my life I had either had too aggressive sex or had injured my penis in some manner (sports, bicycle or a blow to the area). My penis ended up with a significant curve in it plus it decreased in size by approximately 1-1/2 inches. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the size to give up but it happened anyway. The purpose of my comment is to encourage other men who have bent or curved penises to talk with your doctor soon as you notice this or if you are having discomfort. It is important to stop the disease as soon as possible. There are antibiotic’s that can help. My doctor also recommended I take L-Arginine 500 mg twice daily to improve blood flow in the area. I encourage anyone with these symptoms to get over the embarrassment and just talk with your doctor. Trust me, he has heard it all. Thank for the opportunity to share this with you.

I know gay men can produce biological children but i don t think the majority of gay men care about sperm count or healthy sperm….they re more interested in unloading it….not producing kids

For those that do, i assume these tips will help…..but overall..if u are meant yo have kids..you will…..regardless of how u take care of yourself….

Fyi…..sperm has more to do w taking care of your balls…not ur penis….

Glass vs Plastic: Throw out your microwave. Microwaves convert food into toxic substances your body does not recognize as food. I’ve been told microwave ovens have been banned in Russia for this reason.

Nitric oxide supplements can improve blood flow which can mean stronger erections without harmful side effects.

This sounds like more of a guide for people trying to conceive, than anything about “protecting your penis.”

Why would 99% of the gay males on THIS site care about their sperm-count? Highly doubt any of them are trying to become new daddies…. well, *that* kind of daddy anyway.

Quite so one all of the above. Having quit drinking, 2 years now, and quit smoking, 2 weeks ago, I must say Mr Happy is happier than ever! Jim

About the last point: smoking. About 20% of adult Americans smoke. Too many but a definite improvement from the 1960s when half of adult Americans did. And too many gay men smoke. Why is it? I’m glad I’ve never had a puff in my life and have good lungs. And am thankful for Dave and his blog. Happy Thanksgiving

“Banned in Russia” You really believe that? Plastic, yes, bad idea. Heating water in food changes it’s composition? Where did that come from?

I used to love soy milk but it had a negative effect on my erections. It really made it hard for me to maintain them. When I told my doctor he told me that it was switching to soy milk that had caused this. Once I got off the soy milk (and limited my soy based products) I no longer had this issue.

Homosexuality =/= no longer have a desire to reproduce. All of the homosexual men I know want or have biological children. I want biological children as well but doubt I’ll ever go through with having kids in general.

I would like to add that a man should regularly check his balls as well. And by that I mean to feel for any strange lumps/unexplained sensitivity/pain residing with the testicles. The more you know about your body the better
