Speak Out : An Hour With Oprah
Hey guys!
This morning I watched this student-led interview at Stanford Graduate School of Business on youtube in which Oprah Winfrey shares seminal moments of her career journey and the importance of listening to your instincts. Winfrey also offers advice to students on how to find their calling: “Align your personality with your purpose, and no one can touch you” she said.
But all these suggestions are not only applicable to business, they are applicable to life too. In your love life, with your friends, family, your work, the way you live your entire life.
I thought this would be interesting for you to watch the video as well. Some of us sometimes struggle because we have problems with our parents not accepting us or our work colleagues, we fear rejection, we even reject ourselves. But we are strong on the inside, we are humans, whatever colour our skin is, whatever our sexuality is…. We are all able to do great things, like Oprah 🙂
Check it out below, it is an hour long, but definitely a must see! Let me know your thoughts and have a wonderful day!
Dave
Why not ask Oprah about all those PHONY BLACK STUDIES CLASSES at UNC where students who couldn’t read at a third grade level were passing undergrad classes that never existed? That’s the tip of the iceberg, too. Where’s Al Sharpless on this isue? HIDING!
I love this
I think Oprah is a great inspiration to all people”” However our personality and purpose is very short when death is emanate… I wanna do all I can to prepare myself for life after this life””
I realize I’m gonna spend a lot more years after this life in eternity “” I don’t know how long I got here in this flesh, but I do know I got forever after this life,,”.
So I’m trying so prepare myself for the life after this one~!!! 🙂
So my personality and purpose is to soak everything I can get out of this life, with the purpose of the life I want that is to come~!!
I realize nobody is here from the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th century,,, they have been dead longer than they lived***
I know this is over a lot of people’s head, but just think about it. 🙂
Spoken Word))))))
1 percenter black woman
She should be lobbying to institute a fair and honest redistribution of wealth…. everything else is just blah blah blah
C’mon adam 4 adam! …get some balls! And some consciousness!
Dave, I am a CEO so of course I watched this video some time ago but I was surprised to see it posted here. It was a very candid, down to earth look at “Oprah” but it also gave us a rare glimpse into the ingredients that make up who she is as a person and speaks to the fact that ANYONE can survive in this world. Her words were polarizing because in essence what she was trying to eloquently relay to those students was “be the best YOU can be”. Don’t be Oprah, just live YOUR best YOU. Definitely a MUST SEE for anyone looking for that sort of encouragement.
60 minutes with her is tow long
Not a fan of hers at all. I think she is a total hypocrite and has helped to drive race relations back to the pre1960s . She is right up there with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. And if she is so concerned with the poor, the all her money away. She can make more. I hate how she has to let everyone know how she helps people. A true philanthropist doesn’t have to announce it to the media. Oprah is for Oprah, no one else.
5 minutes with her is too long (by about 5 minutes)!!
Im black and lost all respect for Oprah when she stuck her nose into politics and started promoting Barak Obama. She declared him “The One” and now look at the mess he has created. Oprah is forever scarred by this with me. You don’t endorse or vote on race but on qualifications! And it has been crystal clear Barak Hussein Obama is extremely unqualified for the job. Two more years to go and hopefully no more social experiments.
I agree dickbingo
I agree with Rutherford.
I understand in real life she’s not at all who her adoring fans think she is.
The psychological damage she has instilled in women over the years will make me a richer man when they come to me for therapy to undo the mess.
