Health : HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – September 27

In honor of National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – September 27 – the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is raising awareness all this week about the disproportionate burden HIV/AIDS has on gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM). According to the HRC blog:

…HRC will conduct a social media campaign to raise awareness of how HIV/AIDS affects MSM, particularly men of color and those in the 13-24 age range—among whom new HIV infections are disproportionately high. While tremendous medical advances have helped HIV-positive people live longer and healthier lives, they still face stigma and discrimination. There also remains no cure for the disease with 50,000 new infections occurring every year—63 percent of them among MSM.

HRC’s social media campaign kicks off today with Be in the Know. Each day, the campaign will highlight important facts about HIV/AIDS and MSM. It will also feature daily guest blog posts from organizations that have long been leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS and the stigma that can accompany it.

So far, HRC has tackled the ins and outs of gay male health, PEP & PrEP, the importance of regular and consistent HIV testing, and the unique challenges faced by transgender MSM. Follow HRC all this week to #BeInTheKnow

All well and good. Like a physical or taxes, a little distraction done once a year. Once raising awareness of HIV/AIDS is done, it’s back to living the fancy free, happy-go-lucky gay lifestyle with its sexual “revolution” that promotes unsafe sex with multiple, random, anonymous partners picked up at places like clubs, spas, bath houses, dating sites, and craigslist.

Hunter0500: If you see an advertisement for scat will you start eating shit? There you go, use your brain and common sense. You are old enough to make your decisions!

I was watching the “Dave Letterman Show” back in 97. Dave asked Steven Segal, so “what do you think about the aids epidemic?”

Steven Segal said, “well, now I got started in the movies as an action star, because I actually worked for the CIA’s security, so I can’t say to much because I’m also a family man. But I can say that it’s a man made disease.

I had heard that it started or came from Africa; probably true. Some scientists say it transfered from the life-stock to people that lived so closely with the lifestock. I don’t believe that, those villigers have been living with their life-stock for centuries. If, that was so, the Europeans would never have had slaves from Africa, they would have already been wiped out.

Chips are known to have a natural strain of HIV/AIDS components in their blood. In the 50’s, scientists were reportedly experimenting and allegedly, making polio vaccines from the kidneys/blood of these chips; allegedly, vaccinating that villagers back in the 50’s.

The fact that HIV/AIDS was not even crossing the lips of Reagan; ignored for so long as thousands began dropping like flies, I honestly believe, Steven Segal. Also, it was actually a Caucasian America, who was first infected.

Advertisement for scat? Gee, Dave, where are those?

Those with brains are smart. Why are those without brains allowed to promote bad decision making?

Hunter0500 It always makes me laugh when people blame A4A for their actions.
Our society is always like this… Man up! Have some balls and assume your actions.
You want to fuck no condoms well live with the consequences.
I loooooove to watch bareback sex, love it! But hey, I’m 31 and I never, ever, ever had bareback sex in my life… WHY?
Because I’m smart, and dont want to catch all the shit out there… that’s all.
I dont even know how it feels to have a cock in my ass without condoms, even with my BF I was fucking with condom.
That’s a good thing because he was cheating on me.
So would you please stop blaming A4A to “promote” bb sex?
      thank you!

We need a Sex Revolution in 2013. It’s very scary of how many men are still having unprotected sex. Yes, I’m talking about us some gay men. You need to wake up and start using condoms. FUCK BAREBACK, I’m against it because too many people are dying and getting infected with this disease. when I see a profile with that bareback in there I will address it to that person. Yes, we can have an adult conversation about it. Bareback is wrong and unhealthy if you’re having sex with numerous partners. You should not trust anyone and mostly on ADAM, even if their profile says HIV neg. Safe SEX protect yourself and others…USE A CONDOM. It’s a SEX REVOLUTION 13, you go and do your part. Say YES to CONDOMS and NO to BAREBACK!!!

Blog, I think ‘Hunter’ has made two points here, one inadvertently; there’s no such thing as common- sense ’cause there wouldn’t be so many infected people. Unfortunately, he speaks for the masses of people void of common-sense (just use a condom) period, even if you are in a monogamous relationship. Secondly, In truth, this is how many are treating this ongoing tragedy. I’ll never ever forget the beautiful friends I once had and what became of them, I miss them so very much. It’s really left a scare on my very soul, the fact that the powers that be, stood by and watched, alloweing these people of their own country to die.

HIV/AIDS is war, not to be taken lightly, just because now, you can take a handful of pills, it still affects you psychologically/physically to have to do so. We won’t even discuss what it’s cost is to the healthcare system, your family members who worry about you. All because you were not “present” enough! But you’re plenty concientious about the right cars, clothes, style in general. I’m quite dissapointed in the gay community, frankly, I’ve seen very little maturity since ‘our’ sexually revolution. It’s still, nothing more than a grab-bag of rampant sex; see what you’ve done and how you respect your hard-won new-found freedom to be you. It’s so bad ‘out here’, you can’t even find real meaningful love, really fucked up isn’t it?

So true, just like gay pride where all of that phony acceptance and inclusion is preached every year by a bunch of self important, self appointed nitwits who take themselves so seriously, but are the first to behave like snobs because they hold some worthless position in their so called organization.

I don’t know why we need this crap every year, but like bad drag queens they just have to go ahead and put on a show anyway, convincing themselves and those who are so needy for someone to kiss up to that they were any good at it.

Oh well; hopefully in time, as new, more genuinely intelligent generations grow up and figure out they can speak for themselves and don’t have to live and think like clones just because they are gay, these yearly dinosaur mentality presentations will finally evaporate into obscurity.

Watch “Longtime Companion”, or “And The Band Played On” again…better yet, read “And The Band Played On” – every line, every word. Let’s always remember the first/earliest victims (and or course, all victims of the syndrome), and let’s never forget the trashy government, rotten churches, the blood industry, etc. etc.; and everyone who could, but did nothing, and/or who made them and all gays feel so rejected and condemned.
