A4A : Bullying…

Losers from Everynone on Vimeo.

Bullying is still everywhere and it has to stop!

Few weeks ago in Canada another gay teen committed suicide because some people were teasing him at school.

Sometimes kids don’t really think about what they are saying or doing. But we as adults, need to educate them and inform them that what they do is wrong and can cause irreversible damages. One thing someone told me yesterday about bullying was very interesting. He said “take a sheet of paper, crumble it, jump on it. Now put it back straight like it was before. There is still bumps and marks on it that will always stay”.

This was to illustrate how it can affect someone. People who suffered from bullying will always have marks that won’t heal and some of them who are more fragile will go as far as to commit suicide, which is terrible.

So what i’m asking you is to share this video (that is on top of this page) on your facebook wall or twitter page so that we end this asap!

Thanks

My experience with bullying is a twist on the issue which I never have heard anyone else express before. I was a bully in elementary school. I wasn’t one of the more popular kids either, but I picked on those further down the “food chain” than I was. I guess it was to make myself feel better and try to fit in, since sometimes other kids excluded me. They didn’t actually bully me, they just deemed me not as cool as they so therefore I couldn’t hang. However, when I got to junior high school, I was bullied. Boys had to be jocks in my day and I wasn’t, so I was a “fag”. (I really was gay, but kids didn’t come out in junior high school in my day either so no one knew that I really was a “fag”. LOL) The bullying hurt and left me in some ways socially scarred, but I’m OK now. The bullying stopped after high school. In fact in high school I am told I was quite attractive. Sort of like the ugly duckling, beautiful swan story. I don’t look at my being bullied as a cause for bitter memories. Instead I think it was poetic justice because I had been a bully prior to being bullied. I feel sorry for the bullying victims who commit suicide. I pray they can stay strong and find peace. However, my pain was lead to fantasies of doing a Columbine or going postal. Thank God I never acted on them. In closing, one last word to bullies based on my experience: We reap what we so, What goes around comes around, and Karma is Bitch!

This really hits home for me because in middle school I was bullied because I was gay. I really hope that somehow this truly does end and the hatred stops!

I couldn’t disagree with u more. In the first place, people are NOT pieces of paper. Sure we all get dents, wrinkles, knots, dings, whatever. In the second place people are human and come with faults. At the same time each of us can make, more or less, the decision with whom we associate.

People like u, that want a utopian society where everything is celebrated are a scourge on humanity. Through PC, u would like everyone to be like u! Maybe we don’t all want to be; there is ‘free will’.

The ingeniousness of being of being human is that we are all free, through our own actions to do and enjoy what we choose. U sir, are wrong! U just can ‘fix’ the world to be as u would wish, and u have very limited thought capacity.

ghostman67: are u serious? wow!!!!! lol
I know that we are not made of paper dude! It was a way of showing things.
And if you choose to bully well you are the “loser” yourself like they state in the video!
Because it’s not a way of using your freedom. Use your freedom for your political choices, for your sexual life, for your friends, for your clothes, for your hair colour, but not for bullying others!

perhaps, rather than circulating these types of articles, you should grab a handful of the hateful, mean, and abusive comments adam4adam users place on their profiles. thank god i’m someone with self-esteem, because the sorts of things that people write on their profiles is so hateful, so disgusting that it must really hurt others with little or no self-confidence.

    consider that the next time.

i have discovered that most of the people that bully others are just so unhappy in there on life that they think its cool to bully.i was raised in a time and family that thought it was cool to be racist and gay was a sin i do not share any of those views myself i judge people by actions not bye looks, and color and such i had a guy in school and we was friends he discovered i was by and we ended up playing then yr or so later he started telling others i was bi and picking and such well what he didnt inform them on was the fact that he had sucked me and alot more i had proof to out him but never did but thanks to karma he was messing with guy in locker room one day and was caught by others and then the table was turned he was the one being picked on but i did still talk to him about it and actually helped him get threw a ruff time with bully and saved his life actually ..people it doesnt matter what people say or think about you its all about how you feel and treat your self thats all that mtters never be ashamed of what makes you happy

brings back too many memories. I’m pretty sure I was called every single one of those names.
and people wonder why so many teens hate school…

Jon: same here….that’s why I posted the video. I was the pimpleboy, the skinny, the fag, the spock, etc…
Sometimes I still feel like this even if I’m not like that anymore. …

Holy Shit!!.. That video touched me. I swear, these people need to grow up, they’re going TOO FAR. If I ever see any body get bullied, I’ll step in, I’M NOT GOING to do NOTHING.

ghostman67, what planet are you from and where is your humanity!? you’ve never been bullied, because if you had you’d know that the effects can last a lifetime, and i’d like to say that the kids are not the only ones doing this awful thing and sometimes you have to take legal action to get somekind of respect. so have a little sympathy for others who were’nt as fortunate, as you, to have the choice to be “free” from the uninvited bullying of the bully. Yungobruh good you got a taste of your own medicine and Jacob, it sucks to be bullied to all victims, not just the cute ones; i’ve been a victim myself,so i know.

What ever happened to “self DEFENSE”? I was a brown belt in judo when I was in 7th grade. I was short and “bullied”, but the guys that bullied me? THEY ONLY DID IT ONCE, AS THEY GOT THEIR JUST REWARD: I DEFENDED MYSELF!!! What a concept! Yes, in a “perfect world” bullying wouldn’t exist, but being “dystopian”, bullying and other “nasties” exist, I don’t know WHY the “defense” aspect of this has never been brought to light. Violence is taught, not acquired. Bullies are made, not born. We have to see what the familial dynamics (or lack thereof) are in force or lacking. Meanwhile, if the “bullied” fought back instead of laying down like a sheep for slaughter, the tables would sure be turned in a LOT of situations.

@Dave/Blog. Thanks for sharing that video! Although, it really did bring back memories for me as well that were not good.

@Ghostman67 – It was really only an alliterative exercise given to students (see below).
A teacher in NY was teaching her class about bullying & gave them the following exercise to perform:
She had the children take a piece of paper & told them to crumple it up, stamp on it & really mess it up but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out & look at how scarred & dirty is was. She then told them to tell it they’re sorry. Now even though they said they were sorry ……& tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. & that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it. That is what happens when a child bully’s another child, they may say they’re sorry but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her the message hit home. Pass it on or better yet, if you’re a parent or a teacher, do it with your child(ren)!

Most children do not get to pick and choose who they associate with; they are stuck in school and forced to go through humiliating things just to be popular and accepted. And, unlike us, who may or may not have had a refuge to go to at 3:00 like our homes, these children now face around the clock bullying with the social networks their desperately desired “friends” use.

And please, Ghostman67, if you are going to interject your hateful opinions, at least type it all out. This forum is NOT for text speak.

I can’t beleive that bullying still goes on in this day and age. I didn’t have a huge problem with it, but i do remember a time when a guy who thought he could bully me found out that once he crossed the line i drew he was delt with and there was no bullying. I feel for the people who can’t fight back, and i hope that they can get help dealing with this issue. It’s time that people who think they can torcher others will one day find that they will get just what they deserve.

@Christopher: not all bullying is physical; I was never beat up or physically assulted. I was called names and ostracised. You can’t use judo against words as much I wish I could have. I had friends who were bullied as well and they also had martial arts training; they were never able to use their “defence” either because it was verbal. We do not lay down like sheep for slaughter; some of us were taught that you don’t start fights, that you don’t stoop to a lower level.

I turned the tables on this guy who bullied me in 9th grade. After taunting & teasing me in class one day, I turned to him & said; “I’m the gay one but you must be gay too because you can’t seem to keep me off of your mind. Do you want to fuck me, right now, in front of the whole class?” This made the bully angry & he proceeded to start throw punches at me. I broke his nose & he became the guy who got beat up by the faggot. That stopped all bully attempts on me. I’m not saying that violence is the answer but it comes in handy.
