News: Amy Winehouse was found dead!

A press release from the Metropolitan Police, which doesn’t specifically name Winehouse, says:

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.

On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.

Winehouse famously battled addiction to drugs and alcohol and was in and out of rehab several times throughout the years.

Last month, Winehouse canceled her European tour after a performance in Serbia where she appeared too drunk to perform.

Weird coincidence that many toxicoman artists are dying at age 27… Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and now Amy Winehouse. Sad.

“We spend the first 40 year of our lives trying to kill ourselves,

We spend the next 40 years trying to STAY alive.

If she died of her poor health condition, that’s one thing. If she OD’d, I have no sympathy.

I’m neither saddened nor surprised…live hard die young!
Regarding the phenomenon of numerous people dying at this age astrologers relate this to the Saturn return which can be a tumultuous time and a time of great upheaval, a time when things that no longer work or ideals that are not in line with one’s values or morals are cast aside. Unfortunately many do not survive this tumultuous transition into adulthood!

What a waste of a talent and a future. Drugs are so NOT COOL! I am now waiting to hear about Whitney. Another waste of a great talent. PEOPLE… if you never try them you will never be hooked. There is nothing good about drugs for recreational use.

Very sad. She had all that potential, and now she’s gone. Whether it was drugs/alcohol, or something else that killed her, doesn’t really matter. She’s gone.

And, as virtually everyone everywhere has found it necessary to comment, this isn’t as important as the tragedy in Norway.

It’s such a shame that she was not able to break away from her addictions. She was very talented and there was no limit to how far she could have gone.

I was so busy with Comic Con in LA that I did not found this out until today. I felt sorry that she died so young but I do have to say that probably if she would have taken care of herself better she might still be with us…

I get that she made bad decisions, and may have not been the greatest of role models or whatever, but shes passed, and is still a human, why the negative, or hateful comments. I would think if it was someone in your family or a friend, you’d go about it differently. Have nothing nice to say, then don’t speak. She had talent and loved her craft. R.I.P.

I’m amazed at some of the remarks posted on here, the Gay community is supposed to be open minded, loving & kind. The fact that Amy was a young fellow human being seems to escape some of you with your horrible, cruel comments. I loved her & her music, I thought she was getting her act together and was looking forward to hearing more new music from her. It was not to be. Amy Winehose the musical icon will live on for many years to come. Amy Jade Winehouse, the person is lost forever. Love You, Amy, Rest In Peace!

her music was beautiful, a bit ironic and i hope her family gets through this together. in a music industry filled with straight up crap, it saddens me that real singer/artist is gone. her music had so much emotion and her own soul in it. oh well, the world keeps moving on. RIP Amy
