Legendary singer Céline Dion broke the internet with her latest song titled Ashes. She surprised fans even more with the revelation that Ashes is the theme song for the upcoming movie Deadpool 2 (2018, David Leitch). Ashes, of course, immediately trended; racking up almost 5 million views on YouTube as of this writing.
Over the years I’ve received incredible songs and I’ve been involved in fun projects.Ashes is 1 of those songs and @deadpoolmovie is off-the-charts!Take the most insane ride of your life when it opens on 5/18!You’ll be laughing your “ashes” off!–Céline xx https://t.co/oQdifucwUP

Both BBC and Entertainment Weekly called Ashes an “emotional power ballad” though no one could seem to get over the music video for being emotional and yet hilarious at the same time. The music video may have come off as hilarious, but according to its director David Leitch (who also happens to be Deadpool 2’s movie director) in his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Céline Dion “brought everyone on set to tears (in a good way!).” Leitch further revealed that it was Ryan Reynolds who reached out to Céline and asked if she would like to record Ashes.

That’s the sum of two things I didn’t know I wanted to see together. It’s pretty epic.

Personally, I love Céline. And her new song? Totally! Especially the lines:
What’s left to say?/These prayers ain’t working anymore/Every word shot down in flames/What’s left to do with these broken pieces on the floor?/I’m losing my voice calling on you/’Cause I’ve been shaking/I’ve been bending backwards till I’m broke/Watching all these dreams go up in smoke/Can beauty come out of ashes?
How did you like Céline’s new song, guys? Are you a Deadpool fan? Deadpool 2 is set to open on theaters this May 18, 2018. It stars Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Zazie Beetz, Jack Kesy, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Julian Dennison to name a few.
