Dolores O’Riordan, the lead singer of the renowned Irish rock band The Cranberries, has died in London this Monday, January 15, 2018. The cause of her death is not yet known. She was 46.
Her passing was confirmed by her band in a public statement released today through their Facebook page, it said, “Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.”
I love The Cranberries. They are the band behind the hit songs Zombie (1994,) Linger (1993), Ode to My Family (1994), Dreams (1993), and Free to Decide (1996) to name a few. Their latest album, Something Else, was released last April 28, 2017 but the tour was cancelled on account of O’Riordan’s poor health.
According to Rolling Stone, the Cranberries had sold over 40 million albums worldwide to date.
We leave you with one of their hits titled When You’re Gone.
We’ll miss you, Dolores, now that you’re gone. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and beautiful voice to the world. May you rest in peace.
Rip young lady!
