News: Trump May Rescind LGBTQ Protections in Obamacare
The Republican Senate may have failed to repeal and replace Obamacare, but it looks like this isn’t stopping the Trump administration pulling back its protections for LGBTQ citizens.
According to The Hill, the Department of Health and Human Services has come up with rules that will rescind protections for LGBT patients and women who’ve had abortions.
The issue stems from an anti-discrimination provision within ObamaCare that prevents healthcare providers and insurers who receive federal money from denying treatment or coverage to anyone based on sex, gender identity, or termination of pregnancy, among other conditions. This was challenged by a religious group called the Franciscan Alliance, who sued against it and eventually won in court. The Trump administration did not appeal the ruling.
Critics say that the yet to be released guidelines will make it easier for medical institutions to deny treatment to transgender people as well as to women who have had abortions. Religious groups, on the other hand, argue that it only reinforces their right not to provide treatment that’s against their beliefs.
While advocacy groups like Lambda Legal haven’t actually seen the rule, Trump’s recent call to remove transgender troops from the military is the administration “show[ing] its hand,” according to Sasha Buchert, a staff attorney at Lambda Legal.

If health care denied to certain of group of people regardless of any orientation, the government should not collect any kind of tax from this people, I meant any tax. Government runs by the tax revenue, which every citizen abide too, so hello government, they can’t denied this service.

I’m a single guy with a $3000 deductable and $200 a month in premiums through work (work picks up the other $400 a month). I rarely get sick, and my doctor bills/prescriptions average a couple hundred bucks a year. Because my job offers a group plan that meets the “affordable” guidelines, I am not eligible for any tax credits. So wait… maybe I should quit my job.. Then I could get free healthcare, welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, and all sorts of other free shit.. yeah that’s exactly the problem. We hand out too much free shit and it is doing nothing but feeding leeches and their 12 trick babies.

Prior to OBAMACARE my health care coverage was 385$ per month with a 1000$ deductable I am rarely sick BUT I have had 3 lower back surgeries 1 neck and 8 knee. Used to be fairly easy to meet my deductable and pay my premiums. Post OBAMACARE 1343$ per month with a 15,000 deductable and that’s the best rate I can find in NC.
