Grooming : Jewelry for Your Beard?
I don’t know about you but I hope that beard jewelry is something that will never become popular. I think that 2-3 years ago we’ve came to a point of saturation where almost every men on the planet (gay or straight) was embracing their inner Viking and felt the need to showcase their masculinity by letting their facial follicles grow. It’s been amazing business for grooming product companies as they told men how to treat their scruff, how to oil it, keep their chin well hydrated and now… they are selling beads and diamonds for the beard.
In an era when the grooming pendulum is swinging back in favor of being clean shaven, some men are buying brings for their beard. I’m sorry but from far, these sequins look like pieces of food stuck in your beard. Having a beard is already a statement on its own, I don’t think that adding little gold objects in it will make it look better.
Where are the bearded men here? Do you wear jewels in it? Would you?

Yeah no, not a chance in hell. I’m not really into the caveman beard thing either. I have #1 scruff that I keep neat and grow/shape occasionally, and I find scruff/goatees/fu’s/chinstraps extremely sexy on other guys. But it has to be short. Like, you use clippers on it regularly. Once it gets to the point of you having to comb it, you’ve lost me. And yeah, that crap does look like you’ve got food caught in it.

As different as guys are, there are no hard and fast rules about what will or won’t look good. Some guys look good with a beard. Some don’t. For some, some bling would be good in their beard. For others , it would look dumb. Add, too, that regardless of how good one guy thinks another guy looks, some other guy will think that same guy looks just the opposite.

Once again, gay men prove how “cloned” they are. I remember when the Castro got to be the big “gay city” thing in SF back around ’77 or so after Folsom got to be passé…if you didn’t walk around in a Pendleton, Wrangler jeans two sizes too tight and work boots with nary a scuff on them, then you were denigrated beyong belief. Such slaves to fashion…and irritating as all hell!
Any guy wearing beard jewelry doesn’t stand a chance with me. And while we’re on the subject of beards, I rank the hipster beard in the “not a snowball’s chance” with me either. It gives me the impression of filth and disease.

Its the ugliest thing I’ve seen. Beard trimmed is one thing. Long disgusting one is another. Men with that duck dynasty beards are si dirty and smelly. That homeless look is to horrid to look at.

Yuck…..Not sexy AT ALL. I agree with everyone else, and especially to “Mike” who said: I’m not really into the caveman beard thing. and all you guys are soooo right, it does look like food or a gummy bear stuck in the beard.

Except for a shor t mustache, I don’t think it is attractive at all. If I know someone who had facial hair, then shaved it off, it always looks better to me. Even head hair that is long enough to put in a pony tail, or that little bun on top of the head, or God forbid, that long hair parted in the middle. The “jesus” look..I’d a major turnoff to me. That Jesus look reminds me of the hippies when I was a little kid, and hippies always seemed dirty to me. I often wonder what their partners (esp if female) think about it. I often just feel they out up with it because other qualities would negate the ugliness, and often feel that they make themselves ugly on purpose.
Now that it seems like I think too much about it, I’d like to say that unless they are a lover of min, I don’t care that much, but would def be less likely to hire them, because it looks unproffessional
I like a short neat trimmed beard or goatee. The middle East terrorist look not a chance in hell. Many years ago I had a huge beard. Went to Jamaica had it braided with red white blue beads. Wow the looks I got. It was popular with the Jamaican girls. But now I am gay it would never fly with the men. High n tight n trimmed sharp is the only way
BTW my hair was bright red ATT so the Ginger factor added to the effect. Lol
