Style : Fall Must-Haves To Keep You Warm For The Cold Season
Hey guys, like every season, I like to suggest the style must-haves for the upcoming season. Now if you don’t like fashion/style and prefer to wear a hoodie and jeans 7 days a week, this is not for you. But if you enjoy dressing up, like nice fabrics and style, here are my suggestions for the cold season. Nothing too crazy, don’t worry, I like to stay classic!
-Zip-sweaters:
As office dress codes continue to relax, the zip-sweater becomes ever more relevant, providing as it does the perfect blend of smart and casual. It’s easy enough to slip on over jeans and a T-shirt but looks suitably done-up under tailoring, too.
-A touch of Tartan:
Ready for a Highland fling? This season’s take on the clannish pattern is bolder than ever, whether it’s on an overcoats, trousers, a sweater or a cardigan, Tartan is high up on our check list.
-Classic shoes with a twist
If the first thing that somebody notices about you is your shoes, then this season is about going out to make a big first impression. Brogues for example are very classic but here with small studs, they look fantastic and definitely different.
-Velvet blazers :
Velvet is HUGE this season. Wear with tonal wool pants to give a humph to your suit, with a white shirt or a merino wool turtleneck. I suggest to go with black or navy, you’ll be able to keep it forever. If you like to shine, go with red or burgundy.
-Handmade sweater :
You remember the sweaters that your grand-mother was making for you when you were a kid? Well now ask her to make one for you, adult size. Maybe get her some cashmere wool, it will be softer on the skin. I love this Thom Brown sweater below, he made an entire collection with dog design and it’s fun and youthful.
-Tapered Sweatpants :
Sweatpants have been around since the 80s, but they are really in style this fall. Wear them with a shirt, a leather jacket, or even a blazer. Take note that the leg has to be tapered to look cool!
-Turtleneck
Turtlenecks are EVERYWHERE! Wear them under a sweater (yes under a sweater, soooooo cool!) under a suit blazer, with a bomber jacket (below), a leather jacket, it will keep you warm all through the cold season. I suggest to take it dark to be able to layer it with other items, and cashmere is always the softer choice.
-Military jackets:
Military outerwear is on the march again. Expect contemporary takes on the ankle-skimming great coat, bomber jackets inspired by WWII G-1 flight jackets and khaki duffle coats that blend utility with style. I love the double breasted navy military jacket. The gold buttons might be a bit loud, if you are more quiet, go for tonal buttons.
Which of these must-haves will you get for the cold season? I already have the military jacket and sweatpants, I need to get few turtlenecks and sweaters, especially the half-zip sweaters. How about you?
I like the black velvet blazer. I don’t understand the high water pants, is that in style? I guess if you are trying to show off your socks, it’s okay.
oh the short pants, yeah very in style, but maybe not for everyone.
But check out young men wearing suits in marketing or other creative companies, they wear the suit pant on the short side.
It’s nice but you need to be slim for that as it shortens the leg.
I agree! It’s a great, fashion forward look, but only if the man is slender who is wearing a slim-fit suit jacket and trousers. Them Browne has always done it best
Where can I get the tartan jacket?, all these nice clothes and no links to buy.
Jj, the idea was not for you to buy them directly, but get inspired. But this Tartan cardi is from APC and I found it on mrporter.com, it is around $400 if I remember
Maybe the blazer is ok , all the rest skipt it , not my style
I like the shoes, and would appreciate knowing the make and where I can find them.
Hi Tony, shoes are Dolce&Gabanna, probably very expensive, but Aldo and other well price brands have similar stuff.
Your pants should just brush the tops of your shoes and the sweat pants have to go!
Love sweatpants 🙂 so comfy! Perfect when ur lazy , like me:)
But most of the looks are good looking
I guess I’m not cool because I wouldn’t be caught dead in those sweatpants. And with a blazer?! Good lord.
I wouldn’t wear one thing on this list. But then I am in the 20% of us voting for Trump. So I love bucking the stereotype.
yuck! Damn, whats wrong with manly clothes? That shit is way too “gay” for me. It’s a wonder you don’t get your ass beat dressing like that.
lol like I said this post is for guys who like style, fashion, clothes…so not for you.
This post is limited, unfortunately, to only one style. Just as there are a wide varieties of guys, there are varieties of styles, fashions, and clothing. We need to be thankful that great guys come in more varieties than the same old same old young, slim, and affluent. Look at profiles on A4A. Only a small percentage of guys would look good in this limited collection.
Hunter0500 ur right, this post is about that specific style, the one that fashion magazines and trend setters talk about. Of course there are tons of style, goth, punk, hip hop etc, but this specific post is about mass fashion, the one style that a majority of guys all over the world wear. I know that some guys wear leather gear to go clubbing, some guys wear one-piece overall to work in a garage, but this post here is not about that, I’m sure you understand 🙂
“…this specific post is about mass fashion, the one style that a majority of guys all over the world wear.”
No, it’s a about a very limited style of fashion that some, but not many or any where near ‘the majority wear. Only a small percentage of men are young, thin, and affluent enough to pull this off.
Maybe they’re the “majority” in your universe, but in all the travels I do, in my local area, and in media, guys who wear this style are few and far between. Good for them if it’s the style that suits them, but they are far from being the majority.
OK but why did you read the article and comment on it then?
I won’t post articles about overalls and wide leg jeans and hoodies. That is why this category is called “style”
Once again, I repeat, every time I post about fashion you hate it, don’t read it next time.
Hey Dave, what is the brand of the Blazer please?!?!?!
Hey Marq, blazer is Polo Ralph Lauren. There are black velvet blazers everywhere though, Club Monaco, Zara, H&M etc…
Happy Shopping
