Fantasy : Foot Fetish

Do you have a secret fantasy or fetish? The word ‘fetish’ is defined as “a form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked, to an abnormal degree, to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body, etc.” [source: Oxford Dictionaries]. Some people have a fetish for leather, some for hair, and for others, a fetish for feet.

To most people, well, feet are just feet—smelly, stinky, callous-y; but for some people, it could be the sexiest part of the body they can imagine—their biggest “turn-on.”

But why are certain people attracted to feet?

Well, nobody really knows. Some suggest that it could simply be because the feet lead to the legs, and legs lead to the genitals. But whatever the reason, the feet, completed with its toes, nails, and sometimes even the shoes, still holds the number one spot in the ranking of most common fetishes. (It beats everything else!—in intensity and commonality.)

As do all forms of fetishes, having a “foot fetish” typically varies in different degrees, ranging from mild to wild. Some can enjoy just looking at a pair of beautiful-looking feet, but some can’t get enough of it—licking it, sucking it—to their heart’s content.

There are also those people who would madly enjoy a good “foot-job” but wouldn’t exactly prefer doing it to others.

Hardwired versus Haywire – When fetishes get out of hand

Fantasy fetishes (though sometimes seen as taboo) are actually normal and common for many people. It is often a topic of very intimate conversations, often triggered by the question: So what turns you on?

In fact, anything can be a fetish for anyone. It can be an inanimate object (a medium—silk, fur—or something that holds form—stockings, panties)—or an animate entity or part of the body (for instance hands, shoulders, etc., or in this case, feet).

For the most part, fetishes don’t inherently hold any sensual characteristics whatsoever, but they essentially help trigger one’s arousal, setting the mood for sex by instantly turning you on.

But there are also the extreme, insane cases of uncontrolled fetishism like this one:

Get a grip of your fetish!

Ideally, a fetish is, and should, be pretty harmless. In sexual experiences, it ought to play a supporting role, not the lead part.

You can quite easily tell whether your fetish has already gone way out of control. For instance, if you find that you can no longer have a satisfying sex without it, then it obviously is already a problem. It could damage your relationship and sometimes, for some people, even result in aggressive behavior.

Basically, if your fetish (foot or what not) starts interfering with your life—your relationship, your work, your character—you must seek immediate help from a certified professional.

If a gay guy dumps his partner for someone else just because his second toe is a bit longer for his liking?—well, that certainly calls for some therapy!

Fetishes should help enhance one’s sexual experience, not ruin real intimacy.

On the other hand, if you find that you have quite a healthy sense of your (foot) fetish, just go with it—Whatever works for both you and your partner.
