Entertainment : Gaga, Highlight Of The Oscars
Lady Gaga made it again, like last year, she was definitely the highlight of the annual Academy Awards. The 29 years old singer sang her nominated song, Til It Happens To You, a very poignant performance. The song talks about rape and was co-written by Diane Warren and Gaga for the 2015 documentary film The Hunting Ground.
Gaga, donning all white, sat at an all-white piano and sang surrounded by a group of male and female survivors, each of whom had words or phrases written on their arms, including “It Happened to Me” and “Survivor.” The performance got her a standing ovation and everybody in the audience was in tears, including myself, watching it on tv.

Watched from boredom, and was amazed…that show was very well-scripted, full of black performers, and the electricity aboard was sensational.
Gaga sort of pressed on my super-conservo feeling about National Anthem, and my reaction to SuperBowl was “You Don’t
Scoop or Swoop on this Song!” But she redeemed herself and I
was surrounded by wet tissues here at home also…what a gasp of fresh air as we are watching Politics crumble all around
us!
Happy Leap Day – good overlap! James W 70 nyc.
You absolutely right…Lady Gaga was a true artist at the Oscars..and I can say that after all the other top artist are gone and forgotten…Lady Gaga will still be a valued performer and a credit to the City of New York…she is an artist in the tradition of Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler…I can remember hearing and seeing both of them early in their careers when I lived in NYC…I was in the audience with a towel wrapped around my waist when Bette performed at the Continental Bath….which wsa in the basement of a building in NYC named the Ansonia….
