Photography : Lanvin Spring 2013 Campaign
I’m in love with this label, definitely one of the most popular high-fashion brands on the planet right now : Lanvin
Steven Meisel photographed and directed their latest Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign.
For me, everything is perfect, the clothes, the models, the light, the energy.
Lanvin IS fashion!
Check out the amazing photos and mini “making of” video after the jump and let me know if you like ?!
Dave
Ugly clothes from an 80’s version of Hunger Games and models from concentration camps?
It really is disgusting. Especially the girl with the freak-chest. IMO
fogdk : that is fashion, ugly/pretty…
Maybe that is just not your cup of tea, that’s all…
Not for me. I am more a jeans and flannel shirt man. Dressed up when he has to is nice but not in these clothes.
Haha, that’s fashion? I think I’d rather wear potato sacks than look like an executive twig.
I like the interesting look of the clothes very artsy, if nothing else. As a hairstylist myself, I am DONE with that damn combed over mohawk! it is as if guys get a hair trend, and then they stick with it for 5 years!
its verry nice apapenrlty that guy who feresr comened dosnt noa thing about fashion andstuff
Are these people aliens? They don’t even look real. Yuck!
Tres chic!
I used to look just like these models when I was younger, nice lips but oh so underweight, everyone said I was skinny. I can’t stand this look now. It is not a look I want now. the clothes are typical French, nothing new, but to each his own, and I agree with fogdk, ugly ugly ugly clothes.
Yeah, it’s fashion, but the “men” look like girls, and the women look like guys in drag. Use real stud guys in those men’s clothes and then more men might actually want to buy them. “Hot” these guys are not.
Yeah I hear ya’ll….
Maybe because i’m from a fashion background…
Of course if you wear baggy jeans and flannel shirt, this is not for you!
But if you like intricate details and HIGH FASHION, you will enjoy!
Dave
Not interested in this type of fashion and the models look like underweight high school students – no thanks.
I hate when french people talk like this.lol
Brian, me too…it’s annoying lollll
french Canadian we don’t speak like this in english lol
I am jean/t-shirt kind of guy. I dress up when I need to, but not in the kind of clothes this company sells. That may be fashion in Paris, NYC, London, but not in many of the small cities here in America. Just saying!
A blue filter does not art make!
they look ridiculous.
High fashion!!???
I would say UGLY FASHION lol…
in love
Amazing line very vintage Bond !! Clean lines sharp patterns I’d own it all!!!
Ugly,,,,,,,,sorry I have better taste on fashion..
Everything the sterotypical gay guy could want. Young, urban, smooth, thin, femi-man. Don’t know why, but not one of the gay guys I know fits that mold.
Dave, my issue here is the clothes. I’m a pretty thin guy, so Lanvin’s styling and design are made for people who look like me but I just don’t like the clothes. Maybe because I’m more of a Vivian Westwood, John Varvatos, Salvadore Feragamo-type. I don’t like fashion that far on the “precious” side. Those tuxedos were really nice, though.
djuannonly : oh that is the reason why there is tons of labels out there….
Not everybody likes Lanvin and I’m concious of it.
get em fed and into the sun
LOL!! I don’t get way that chubby guy was commenting through the video. His reactions we’re way over done, LMFAO!!
If being French means you wear this, I’m never going to France! (Basically I’m saying being French or French Canadian has zero to do with anything. It’s simply ugly.)
French canadians dont speak french they speak tabernac…remember that. These guys are like Ghosts but i love this look
UGLY, UGLY UGLY. Same ugly clothes from when I was back in my teens. Same skinny ties, same hairstyle. And it all looks so bad on these skinny models. The glasses look like some kid wearing his fathers sunglasses. ha ha ha lol and this is “Tre Chic” lol keep it in France where it might be popular as they have no class anyway.
DEFINITELY HIGH FASHION FROM ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS COUTURE HOUSES OF ALL TIME. THIS IS THE REBIRTH OF “LANVIN”, THIS IS TASTE AT A HIGH LEVEL, DETAIL, DESIGN AND ART. I LOVE LANVIN
LOVE LANVIN! But theses models look like they came from the Morgue! And the young men? Who dresses like that when they are 13 or 14? LOL but I do Love Lavin! The queen talking in the video is a bit distracting as well, some nice music would have been better and some more camera work and some models with 15 more pounds or so. . .
Parker, “the queen” is Albert, the designer of Lanvin lol….
Personal preference: I don’t like the clothes, I don’t like the hairstyles, I don’t like the overly staged photography. The model might be OK without all that other stuff in the way.
Some of the garments are nice, but I doubt they would fit, much less be affordable for the average joe to buy.
new me : pant is around 1000$, leather jackets around 6-7k …
So no, it’s not for the average joe…But it’s nice to get inspired!
I couldn’t wear this style of clothing. I don’t care for being at the center of attention. I’m sure we will see the younger generation do something with this. Oh well.
These clothes aren’t all that new. They look like something that’s been done before. Slim fit, skinny ties. Been there, done that. Not all Men look good pulling off this look. I like a Man who looks comfortable in what he’s wearing, if he looks like the suit is wearing him, then it doesn’t look natural. I’am a jeans and tee shirt guy too, but when it’s time to dress up, then a great fitting suit always looks great.
THAT’S FASHION AT A HIGH LEVEL COMING FROM ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS COUTURE HOUSES OF ALL TIMES. THAT IS ALSO DESIGN, TASTE , SOPHISTICATION AND ART.” LANVIN” PROVES ONE MORE TIME THAT IS AN ICON IN THE FASHION WORLD.
That is the fugliest model I have ever seen. He looks like McLovin. That model alone, makes me not want to buy those clothes.
These models look sick and very pale. Clothes look ugly. Give me jeans and tee shirt.
Too Retro!!
They desperately need to lose the WW2-era German hair “styles”, look like a bunch of nazi-youth (except for not being blond)!
MY INTENTION IS NOT TO OFFEND ANYBODY IN HERE BUT I PERCEIVE KIND OF JEALOUSY IN SOME OF THE COMMENTS. THE FACT THAT SOME OF YOU GUYS CAN AFFORD ONLY A $24 FLANNEL SHIRT AND A CHEAP PAIR OF JEANS AT WALMART DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN’T ADMIRE LUXURY AND SOPHISTICATION. HIGH FASHION IS NOT DEFINITELY FOR EVERYONE, THAT’S WHY IS CALLED HAUTE COUTURE OR HIGH FASHION, IT IS JUST FOR PEOPLE WITH HIGH LEVELS OF TASTE AND MONEY… SORRY FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T AFFORD IT…
I saw the pics, read the comments and then kept referring to the pics. Not a fan of the clothes since they bring nothing strikingly new to the table. Then I watched the video and it kind of all made more sense.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Lanvin fragrance for men. Its been around for years, way before they made the mistake of running a small mens line. Its more for the twinkish or fem type but its heavenly. Get out of the mens game Lanvin its saturated and you do best with the dress….
“High Fashion” doesn’t mean anything more than high price. Oh and what’s with Edward… was that really necessary? And worse–in all caps?
It’s funny to mean that its called high fashion. So stuck up. But I find that usually gays that like this sort of thing are incredibly femme, materialistic, self obsessed and dismissive to other people with opposing views. Just my observation.
“I like things that most people don’t like because I want to be different, even though I am unoriginal.” – that’s what I hear 🙂
fogdk: actually not many people can afford these clothes, so therefore, you are original when you wear them
Thanks for making my point blog. Money does not equal originality. Those are the kind of people that disgust me. Faux cool
And yes I would like to buy my clothes at target or wherever, but its sucks that I’m homeless and can even afford that. Materialism is terrible, clothes don’t make the man. I love how condescending the moderator is.
interesting concept and nice lines but so over priced and the models do remind one of “twighlight meets hunger games”….not really my cup of Earl Gray but to each his own.
