Music : Katy Perry’s Wide Awake
Katy Perry just launched her new music video for “Wide Awake”.
Inevitable endings and new beginnings are two themes in that video of the final single from the megahit Teenage Dream album.
In the video, Perry is trapped in a labyrinth, she then discovers her lost innocence (the little girl), she is surrounded by paparazzi, she finds her Prince charming who crosses his finger behind his back before trying to kiss her, but then she takes a swing and throws him an uppercut!
Everything in that video is pretty symbolic… but it shows exactly what she went through in the past 2 years;
“It’s kind of like the labyrinth of my life in the past two years,” she said. “I just wanted to tell a story about myself kind of going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze. There’s good parts and bad parts.” she continued.
In the past 2 years, Katy became one of the biggest pop stars on the planet with many #1 in the charts all over the world.
Check out her latest video under the jump and let me know your thoughts.

Katy this video was amazing keep pulling out the amazing work love the theme concept of it all as if stuck in a dream.Katy u are AMAZING
Well, It is a sad journey she had to endure but unfortunatly she stoped listening to those around her who saw her making a mistake and tried to say something. Yay she learned and grew from that experience but to most people this journey of hers is no surprise. It’s typical of stars on her coarse.
The video looks like a mixture between Pans Labyrinth & Alice in Wonderland. In an interview, Katy explains that she would have to cry face down (so the tears won’t ruin her makeup) & let it all out, only moments before heading on stage. And no one really knew what was going on. It’s sad it didn’t work out b/c Katy seems like a really sweet person. I guess Rihanna was right- Russel wasn’t good enough for Katy.
