Fashion: McQueen at The Costume Institute Of The Metropolitan Museum Of Art N.Y.C
The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is recognizing the house of Alexander McQueen’s extraordinary body of work in its spring exhibition called Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. It will run from 4th May – 31st July 2011.
The exhibit will be found at the revamped Met space, celebrating the life and career of McQueen with a total of 100 examples on view including the “bumster trouser, the kimono jacket, and the Origami frock coat, as well as pieces reflecting the exaggerated silhouettes of the 1860s, 1880s, 1890s, and 1950s that he crafted into contemporary silhouettes transmitting romantic narratives,” according to the Costume Institute.
